We went to this restaurant during a "Restaurant week". That means that you get a 3 course diner for a special price. You get a few choices (meat/fish) but not as many as the normal menu. I have chosen the meat menu, my wife chose the fish menu. Both were very tasty and prepared nicely. The ambiance inside the Hoofdtoren... More

My wife and me walked around the beautiful small town, down the sea side, we found a very interesting building, then decide to walk in. It was in the noon, the restaurant has just opened. My wife ordered one shrimp and salmon, I ordered cool beef. Of course, at beginning we don't realize that all we ordered are cold food.... More

We had a very nice meal in the top of this fortress that guards the harbor at Hoorn. The food was very good and the presentation was very nice. It was probably one of the best meals we had during our 2 week stay in The Netherlands and we would definitely eat there again.

Food wise this restaurant is a recommendation; the service is nice and quick. The inside of the restaurant is on the first floor; you need to go up a winding staircase. The windows are very small, so they advertised view over the IJselmeer is a bit challenging. Going to the toilet is going down the winding staircase again.

Excellent food and service in addition to the amazing location. We fell in love with the City of Hoorn and De Hoofdtoren.

The restaurant is located in an old building (old vesting) You have a nice view over the lake IJsselmeer. The selection of food for a lunch is great and the quality is very good. The hospitality is very pleasant including the service. Advice before you go upstairs make use of the toilet facilities downstair, otherwise you have to climb the... More

This traditional defense tower dating back to 1532 has been transformed into a wonderful restaurant and bar that is a great stopping point on a walk through Hoorn. The architecture is stunning, and the building has been beautifully transformed for its current purpose. The service is friendly, and the menu is relatively traditionally Dutch but with a high-end tint. Prices... More

The setting of this restaurant is fabulous. In an ancient tower at the harbour. We were with a rather large group, but we weren't the only ones! In total I estimate some 60 persons were having dinner. the noise-level was unacceptable. I had to shout to my neighbour in order to have a conversation. Because of the high occupancy, the... More
