This is a small and very friendly restaurant serving very carefully thought out chef prepared dishes at reasonable prices. We were very pleased to find this place. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Highly recommended.

BastiJan is a small restaurant in "Restaurant Street" in Haarlem. Service was excellent, very friendly, very professional. The food was amazing. We took the 4-course surprise menu which is very good value for money; it's just 30 euros! And it was excellent food! The cook/owner, Jan, even adjusted our food to the wine we chose. Jan cooks with great passion... More

A friend and I ended up here, and we were lucky: they were celebrating their 'anniversary' and they had a special surprise menu. It was delicious! I didn't know the Dutch cuisine could taste that good. Not only the food is very Dutch, also the 'gezelligheid' (cosy) is typical. It's small and unique, even a cat was walking around if... More

What a lovely little restaurant. The welcome was extremely friendly (the chef waved at us as we perused the menu outside), the menu was very varied and the wine list excellent. It was no problem to modify the dishes to deal with dietary requirements and overall very well priced. Would definately go back.

We live in Haarlem, and go to Bastiaan three of four times a year, often to celebrate something. In September we celebrated the sale of our house. You can rely on the same good quality, the portions are generous and the presentation is agreable. Menu changes regularly, mostly per season. The service is performed by young enthusiastic people.
