Nice atmosphere, the food was really tasteful. Not many choices but that is a pro for me. The starters and the chicken are highly recommendable.
We keep coming back to this 'international style bistro'. Confit, steak tartare, oysters to start with. Seabass, Petit Poussin, Tournedos Bearnaise as main course. All of good quality and reasonably priced. Service is relaxed, and well informed. Friendly priced wines (Meursault or Chassagne-Montrachet both €50), wide selection of open wines. Mixed crowd, vibrant atmosphere.
After a round of golf on the Kennemer golf club friends invited us to have dinner by Cafe Colette in Haarlem. After a long search for parking space( a big problem in the centre of Haarlem) we arrived at the restaurant. The restaurant is a casual place with a young crowd. Here you eat not in a quiet ambiance but... More
We have eaten at Cafe Colette at least 8 times within in a year, so far never disappointed. Food is also good, it gets really busy Saturday night, so you need reservation. My partner's favorite is the raw steak tartar with raw egg, it's very delicious. Myself has food allergy, also no problem here.
We tried to eat at a place called brassserie, of all things, with 3 Ss. It is a michelin starred place. There were no openings and the maitre d' sent us to cafe colette as a consolation prize. It is where he eats so that tells you something. We were delighted and are going back on our last night! Not... More
Just off the Grote Markt, this stylish restaurant had a lovely, french-inspired menu at reasonable prices. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were helpful, attentive and friendly. It was quite busy with locals (something which we took as a good sign) but this did not result in slow service. The portions were generous and the food well cooked and... More
this place attracts locals like bees to honey on a saturday around five. place gets pretty filled up and a spot at the bar is excellent for some drinking and crowd browsing. we ordered some bitterballs with the super value bottle of picsomething (22 euro for superb white wine) and were treated with the exact amount of attention by the... We visited Café Colette on a Sunday and the restaurant was fairly busy mostly with families. It had a good atmosphere and the décor is very pleasing, combined with a good varied menu and welcoming staff makes it a good choice in Haarlem.
I've eaten here several times over the past few months and the service has always been good and the food tasty.
Cafe Colette was very busy and noisy on the Saturday night we were there. I can't remember too much of our meal as it did not stand out as a more than acceptable experience. However, I cannot recall any complaints either. I do remember how crowded and noisy it was with, presumably, many locals enjoying their evening.
