One of the best in Haarlem

On the night of Valentine's Day we had dinner here with 5 people. The special surprise menu was really surprise. Very original and good quality for not too much money. The atmosphere is good, staaf really freindly and professional. We will be back!

This is a lovely restaurant in a fancy neighbourhood. I expected it to be more posh formal than it was, so it was actually a nice surprise that it was a little more informal. It was a fixed 3 course menu, but they could cater for the 3 special diets in our 7 person party (vegetarian, no fish, and Paleo.... More

Had a good table at the window with view on the park. Surprise menu was really very good. Multiple flavours were well balanced and wine of good quality and reasonable price. Fish was nice and meat was exceptionally good. Very friendly service - and did not wait long at all. Will most definitely go back sooner rather than later.

Perhaps expectations caused part of the disappointment but on the other hand that does not excuse extremely slow service. Two hours between entrees and mains is too long! Staff friendly but too many table to attend to on the night we were there. One should not have to ask for water and to wait an age for salt that was... More

This restaurant has been mentioned in the Michelin guide and they have been serving top meals over the last 3.5 years that I have been visiting them. They have a private dining area upstairs including a bar area and you can also have a meeting up there...projector, screen etc. They specialize in the surprize menu. You tell the cook what... More

This restaurant looks bright and modern, located in the vicinity of Haarlemmerhout, which is the oldest public park in Holland. Hence the name 'Hout', meaning wood in Dutch. The three-course menu that we had started with a fairly well-prepared ray wings. The main course of cod and (burnt) brussels sprouts were just OK and came in small portions. The accompanying... We were with 8 friends all where very pleased also the ones who ordered another type of food. we had 3 courses all of a good taste and surpising as they... More

My family and I had Easter lunch here during our visit to the Netherlands. The waiter suggested the 2 course "suprise" menu and asked us if there were any foods we did not eat. He also suggested a wine pairing for each course. We're so glad we took his suggestions, the food and wine were excellent! We started with an... More

After reading multiple positive reviews we decided to give Hout A try, and had a "late seating" dinner there last friday! The Atmosphere is good ,although we felt a little cramped up by the set up in the restaurant, there is barely room between the tables to walk. The menu is pretty straightforward with a few nice surprises! The food tasted great... More

Me and my wife visited your using a Group on offer. We ate a 4 course menu for 55 Euro's all together. (1 glass of win, 1 bottle of sparkling water and 1 espresso). All the dishes were very well made. There was such a nice balance in the ingredients. The wine they served accompanied the dishes well. Size of... More
