This brewery was lively and fun to grab a few beers and snacks. It wasn't that warm when we were there but it looked like they have a large patio to sit outside when the weather is nice. Jopen beers are great!

We were recommended this restaurant by the proprietors of Malts Hotel (an excellent B & B hotel), Henk and Annmarie, The restaurant and brewery is located in an old church. it is beautifully designed, contemporary yet in keeping. The food was excellent, the service attentive and a range of delightful beers was on offer to complement each dish. The evening... More

This luncheon restaurant is famous for its beers, and aperitif drinks and snack, though it also is a very good luncheon restaurant for a quiet luncheon in a business environment. We went there for a business meeting and found a quiet restaurant and a perfect setting to have lunch as wel as a business meeting. We had some fried eggs... More

The atmosphere and delightful cuisine - I cannot wait to go back and visit here again! The chef even made a couple of salads from scratch for us per our request and looked like they came straight out of a magazine for world wide delicacies! LOVED the lobster tail!

Did not eat, so can't comment on the food. The beer is average. Would be a good place for a big group. You can sit inside or outside and it's friendly and clean.

Stopped by for a beer on The King's Birthday 2014. Great beer selection. Brewery is in an old Church with a very interesting design. Definitely worth stopping in just to see the inside. Didn't try any of the food but looked like your standard bar food choices. All the beers were very good.

When visiting Harlem, the Jopen is a recomended visit for the experience of good beer from a micro brewery situated inside a former church; it is just a few minutes walk from the centre of city, a large place which accomodates groups without hassles (we were a group of 10) with great ambience; in house beer selection 12 types of... This old church is now a brewery/bar. The interior is so exciting you tend to forgive anything else. We went for lunch, which maybe wasn't the best idea. Service a little confused and lunch not that great, but I will surely come back. Only next time for some Jopen beer in an exciting environment instead of for lunch.

The Jopen Kerk is a pretty cool place. The Beer selection is top notch with options of almost all imaginable beer styles available ranging from hoppy selections to a solid Belgian Quad. The food is decent, better than the other reviewers say. But the service is hit and miss, just like the rest of the Netherlands. The vibe is cool.... More

Jopenkerk is a disused church, just a few minutes’ walk from Haarlem’s town centre. The building affords ample room for a grand café, a restaurant and a brewery-in-residence, in full view of the eating and drinking guests. The Jopen brewery produces some 20 varieties of beer, most of them great, and they are all served here. Some of the beers... More
