Best High Tea in Haarlem

The freshly baked scones and cakes are delicious. Also the sandwiches and pies. I realy loved the onion pie. The tea is nice but they also have nice wine. Service is wonderfull. And if you can't finish everything they will give you a box with the cakes you haven't eaten.

Just walking through Haarlem on a Sunny Saturday we bumped into this nice little gem of tea houses. Why? because the outside with the chair, table and sign was just attractive and irrisistable. Best is to make a reservation, we had none as we didn't plan it. Luckely we got a table :-) Servcie is just good, polite, explain the... More

We enjoyed the scones which were still warm from the oven. The clotted cream is fresh and delicious. We polished it off with a big pot of Earl Grey. The owner and staff are welcoming and friendly. Pleasant atmosphere in the historic heart of Haarlem, a couple blocks from the main square.

My mother and I were traveling together, and we have different tastes. We went to Ma Brown's because my mom requested we eat "something normal." As a culinary genre, I've always found British food to be edible, but rather dull fare, uninspiring and nothing I'd go out of my way at all to find. Ma Brown's changed my attitude in... More

Just had dinner at Ma Brown's this evening. It was the first day they were open after being on holiday. The service was outstanding and the food was great. I enjoyed a delicious trout wrapped in bacon (English). The sides included with my main course were very fresh and tasty and more than enough, but that didn't stop me from... More

My wife and I love a good English breakfast, do enjoy pub lunches, fish and chips... and so much more English food. We're now living in Haarlem for 7 years and it was only last Friday that we went to Ma Brown's... and what a wonderful surprise, not in the last place since the owner Michael is an amazing man... If you are ever in Holland & vaguely in the direction of Haarlem, don't waste any time wondering where to have dinner, head straight here.In fact it's worth the trip from the UK just to for this.......but book first. Owner & chef, Michael, seeks out traditional & unusual recipes to create a British menu, imaginative & using the finest ingredients.Always... More

One of the highlights every time I visit Haarlem, I can honestly say I have been going there since 1990. It is a small restaurant of about only 8 tables, so my advice is to book early to avoid disappointment. Cozy, friendly atmosphere and Michael (owner & chef) always has time to come and have a chat with you. The... More

Finding a good English restaurant in The Netherlands is quite hard to do. We are talking more than just fish and chips. How lucky we were finding this little gem just off the center in Haarlem. The owner is very friendly and really wants you to have a good time. The food is beautiful and like other said do leave... More
