We sought out the restaurant on April 20, 2012, as it was our final night in Amsterdam and we wanted something really authentic. When we got there. . . .no sign of life. what a disappointment. We would be interested to know what happened. . .

We have eaten here many times over the years and the restaurant seems to be closed. The tables and chairs were gone and the sign in the window syas "gesloten" - closed. I am not sure what happened.

A very nice restaurant, waitress was extremely pleasant and welcoming, very relaxed atmosphere. Both my husband and I decided to try the traditional Dutch meal 'Hutspot' one with sausage and one with meatballs both of which were very flavoursome. The restaurnant appeared mostly busy with local diners which suggested to us that the traditional food they were serving was of... More

Having read the review on Lonely Planet, we decided to give it a shot. The place looks interesting although it doesn't shout that it's that old (since 1870!) which is a shame cause it has been recently renovated. The food was local indeed, given that a massive bowl of fries was served with anything on the menu! Not impressed by... More

Unfortunately our host recommended this place and traditional dutch food, and that we should try it, we saved it for our last dinner in Amsterdam, so not worth it. Nice lay out of restaurant, but no menus, we had to walk to the other end of the place! normally would not mid but one of our party had hurt her... More

If you are traveling to Amsterdam why not stop in for some authentic dutch food. Food was great ! service was so so, but were from out of the country so maybe that is the norm.

it's been sometime since i've been here. but i like the food, nothing haute cuisine, just the traditional dutch cuisine :). cosy atmosphere. maybe you want to sit at one of the longer tables where you might end up next to some local... it's a real experience!

This place was recommended by our hotel concierge. We were not disappointed. We ate there on two occasions, and on both times we were lucky to get in because of the locals frequenting the place. I have always been told "If Chinese people eat in a Chinese restaurant, eat there". It follows if the Dutch eat at a Dutch restaurant,... More
