A people watching venue if you have the time but it is a quirky place

First, I understand why some might be frustrated if you have other places to go, but if you want to watch interesting people--give this place a try. If you are inside and not sitting outside, sit near the stairs to the second floor and watch the parade of people. In regard to the food, I had an... read more

Food was just 'OK' ...but the service was appalling....waiting 30 mins for our drinks order, but they forgot one, then our waiter went on his lunch break - at 2pm in the middle of service, and his replacement forgot to come to us to take our food order, then that took another 30 mins to arrive!...spent 1hr 20 mins just... This cafe restaurant is bright and modern and has lots of space inside, unlike many of Amsterdam's restaurants. The atmosphere on Sunday lunchtime was cosy and welcoming. We really liked it.

Nice location, very friendly staff. Limited menu with fine quality food. Excellent Illy coffee. Relax music, good WiFi. Ideal for coffee & cake or a salad.

Walem is the neighbouring restaurant to Morlang and their atmospheres are, if not identical, at least very close to the same. This is not a bad thing. The service is a little bit slow, but their burgers are worth the wait. We never got the chance to sample the rest of the menu, but if it's comparable to their handywork... More

When I'm in Amsterdam, I always try to make time for lunch in this café. They do nice light lunches. The service is great. It is especially nice if you can sit outside on a sunny day.

We had breakfast at Walem and were quite disappointed. The location is great and staff were friendly. We were there early on a Saturday morning and it was still very quiet, so food was prepared quickly and service was fast. However, the microwaved scrambled eggs were disappointing, plus we found a hair in the eggs. Croissants and toast were very... More

I came here on a Sunday in July 2014. I had a fantastic ham and cheese omellette with a tasty fresh salad. I wanted some cheesy chips and although this wasn't on the menu the waiter kindly arranged for some cheese to be sprinkled on top. This was accompanied by some nice mayonnaise and decent coffee. The environment inside is... More
