Deliciously Dutch

The poffertjes were astounding! But so was everything else. I would highly recommend the appetizer plate, it had a great assortment of Dutch classics. I would come back here everyday.

Very happy that we stumbled across this busy neighbourhood restaurant. Tasty Dutch food, friendly professional service and well priced. Happy to recommend.

When we go away to different countries we like to try the local cuisine. Dutch food is very much comfort food. Hotchpotch, for instance, a very traditional dish which has great similarities with our sausage and mash. So if you expect food which is a great revelation you will be dissapointed; but, if you like food like mom used to... More

My father and I stumbled across this restaurant and have been back 3 times. The Hotchpotch (Stampot) is amazing. Bitterbollen was very nice. Brings back memories of good old home cooking. Impressed.

If this is what an authentic holland food looks like, it's kinda disappointing. I like potatoes. But if hotchpotch is all about mashed potatoes with meatballs and sausages, it's kinda.... boring. Pea soup was okay, nothing to shout about. The only thing we like is bitterballen. We have bitterballen almost everyday when we're in Amsterdam. Will I try this so... More

It shouldn't surprise to find so many non-authentic restaurants in the centre of the Amsterdam night life, all trying to capitalise on the horde of foreign tourist.so if you're wandering about leidplein, and you want to try dutch cuisine, this is the closest you'll get. Once in, the place is welcoming so does the staff, yet the service is ok... More

We end up in the place by coincidence while searching for "dutch" restaurant around Leidseplein and this was definitely good hit. Fast and friendly staff, great food and very tasty "special" beers.

I've been to De Blauwe Hollander on each of my 3 trips to Amsterdam. It's located in a cheesy part of town that has restaurants of all cuisines that appear to cater to tourists, but this place is different. The interior is smart, the staff is excellent, the portions are perfect, and the food is delicious. This is a great... More

We came here to have dutch cuisine, and we did enjoy the food. The waitstaff was curt and not friendly at all. When we arrived, there were lots of open tables - perhaps 1/3 full, and a group of 4 ahead of us. All of a sudden we were told to sit at a nearby table so we sat. It... More

A very popular restaurant for both tourists and locals. Well-prepared Dutch fare served in large quantities. My wife's meatball was so big the two us didn't finish it. Extremely friendly and efficient service. Child friendly. Saw them furnish a coloring book. The asparagus soup was outstanding along with my halibut and some potatoes mashed with cooked endives. Have to try... More
