Nice food

The restaurant is very small and looks more like a fastfood restaurant or a Bistro. The food was good and very delicious, but the host was not much interested in our mood or how we are doing, so only 3 stars

Unfortunately I decided to rely on a positive Lonely Planet recommendation instead of reading the distinctly mixed reviews on TripAdvisor. The restaurant is gloomy and cheaply decorated, although it seemed to be clean. Service was fine. I started with the Nasi Kuning selection, my wife with the somewhat cheaper Nasi Rames (Euro 22.75 and 18.75 respectively). Both consisted of a... More

We went for dinner on our last night in Amsterdam. We were staying nearby and walked up to the restaurant, dodging bicycle-riding locals on their way home. We had two rijstafel meals and a vegetarian combination and were completely full at the end. The food was authentic in taste and well presented. We would highly recommend this restaurant if you... This place was recommended in a guide Amsterdam top 10 and it really isn't worth a visit. The food is bland, a lot of dishes but all the same flavours. Oh, and a mouse ran through the place while we were sat at our table!

Some nice flavours but felt like it had all just been thrown on the plate. Haven't tried Indonesian food before so nothing to compare it with really.

We went because of a review (not TA, can't remember where) to find the place next door (No 75, another Indonesian restaurant) packed, but almost no one here. We decided to eat here anyway and had the veggie platter which was nice and spicy, even though some ingredients were - to us - unidentifiable. Quite basic decor, nice staff, but... More

I'd considered Tujuh Maret my favourite Indonesian restaurant in Europe, based on my three or four previous visits over the past decade. However, this last time, the rijsttafel failed to excite me as it had on prior experiences. Could of course simply have been an off night for the chef, but there are a lot of very good Indonesian places... More

You know when you take a few bites from your plate and you just know it's not going to end well? That's this place. Despite being in the top 10 for Indonesian food in my travel book, it's clearly not the case! We decided to give it a try but ended up getting a bad dose of food poisoning and... More

For our last night in Amsterdam we were very keen to try some Indonesian cuisine, having been told good things about the rijsttafel. On a tight budget, we decided to try the Tujuh Maret as it was described as being cheap while still serving quality food. The restaurant is clean but plain, but this was to be expected. The service... More
