Fun and affordable place

The bazar is a nice and affordable place to grab lunch or a descent meal in the city centre of Amsterdam. The staff is well-trained and the you'll never leave with an empty stomach. I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic night out, but still, you wouldn't regret visiting this place.

Hidden in the centre of Amsterdam is Bazar, a Turkish style restaurant which occupies an old synagogue. The atmosphere is relaxed and very nice, the food is superb! A must if you are in Amsterdam!

Really a nice place to have dinner, rather large portions for a fair price (between 10-20 euros including drinks). The Middle-Eastern atmosphere is great and the mosaics are stunning. Make sure you make a reservation, it tends to get really crowded, especially in the weekend.

This was a great experience. The place is just amazing, just look around and o the upper floor, it's very nicely decorated. Food was delicious, and the price was ok, nothing expensive. Service is fine as well, and we could stay after dinner some time while talking, we didn't feel pushed to leave like in other places. I would just... More

A jewish temple transformed into a turkish restaurant.. Grills were so delicious and the atmosphere was outstanding.. Exotic, eclectic, colorful neon lights, vibrant and very Mediterranean. I'm from Egypt and we eat kebab or kofta almost every week but this is probably the best i've ever had. The portions were huge but i wanted more.. The waitress was so sweet... More

If your visiting the market I highly recommend stopping here for a bite to eat, it was recommended to us by a man in a coffee shop in Noord, the food is delicious and the portion size is great for what you pay. I wish I'd known about it earlier on in the holiday! It is a church which was... More

To start with the positive side, yes it is somewhat affordable. However, the atmosphere chaotic and loud. Besides that some foods in the menu obviously came from tin cans. Coming from the mediterranean myself i could easily tell the difference. The rest of the food (that did not come from a tin can) was not exactly tasty or good. Further,... More

Came here with friends while ona trip to Amsterdam. very colourful place with interesting decor. All of us had kebabs which were perfectly char-grilled!! the rice that came with it was rather too large, would prefer more veggetables instead on the plate. Were very full by starters and mains, so did not try any desserts. will return next time we... More

This restaurant is bustling and fun with a great atmosphere. The food is fresh and the servings are very generous for the price. We ended up eating here multiple times because it was near our hotel, and the standard was consistently high. This restaurant is a great choice for larger groups or those who are looking for a casual, relaxed... More

Staying in De Pijp

Neighborhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
