A nice atmosphere, decent food

The building was an old church which created a nice atmosphere. Although I didn't eat any food, my friends had a range of meals and they all thought they were good! Nothing to rave about, but definitely worth checking out!

The location is good, could have been a good place but the food is just ordinary! We went for lunch when the meze and sandwiches were the only option available. The veal sandwich was ok but the merguez one came with 5 dry merguez on a pita bread and nothing else, I asked for some Harissa or sauce and they... More

This was the first restaurant that i visit when i arrived to Amsterdam. My friends bring me there, as one if his favorite places. The food is amazing, i been twice and i have no doubts about it, sometimes the service can be slow, but its a place to chill and enjoy, no to hurry up!!! In my last visit... More

We decided to return to this restaurant after just looking at it on a walking tour. We were initially drawn in by the beauty of the building it's housed in- a converted church with lots of interesting paintings and art work on the walls, and a huge number of fairy lights. There is a balcony running around the outside, allowing... More

I went here for dinner with a couple of colleagues after a long day at work and it was definitely worth the visit. The best about this place is the setting in what seems to have been an old church right next to a synagoge (hebrew writing on the one wall) - transformed into an oriental restaurant. The place offers... More

I visited here for my 29th birthday 2 years ago in sept. The food was amazing a good selection, we tried most things there. Food came out quite quickly and once we had it we didn't see a waiter for over 1.5 hours so won't be coming back

Second time we went in Bazar and as good as the first time ! We were looking forward to eat here again and it was lovely. The service is quick and well served (dishes fresh and big plates). Original way to serve with two waitresses who bring a large plate with everything on it and the other who places the... More

Quite good food, service adequate, the whole thing (table and chairs included) could do with a wash to remove the stickiness. Good prices, and a wide variety of food at dinner, although at lunch it was more restricted.

I ate the chickensate on bread and later on (yeah, we went back the same day) I ate the Sigari Böregi. Yummie, a bit small plate (3 pieces) but for 4,90 euro's its ok. Two thumbs up, I'll return!

The food is good but a little bit pricey. The service is good and very prompt. The atmosphere is cozy.

Staying in De Pijp

Neighborhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
