Restaurant De Luwte has been a well-known establishment located at the Leliegracht in Amsterdam for over 27 years. This winter, it has renewed the look.As soon as you walk in you feel the warmth. Warmth coming from the cosy fireplace, but also the natural colors and materials surrounding you. You find yourself amongst the locals and internationals. Enjoy a nice glass of red wine by the fireplace, a special diner with a view over the Leliegracht or taste different cocktails below our vertical garden. The name 'De Luwte' means 'out of the wind' or a 'sheltered place'. Superb *****

Booked reservation online prior to going to Amsterdam as a recommendation by friends. Wasn't expecting it to be as fantastic as it was. My friend and I was able to chose a table of our liking and we was served by the most friendliest of staff. The food was amazing and was served to perfection. I... read more

This is a classic restaurant in the Center of Amsterdam. It has been open for more than 30 years, and lately has been renewed. You can find the influence of different kitchens...mediterranean, french...The quality of the ingredients is exceptional and the presentation very beautiful. Very fresh fish, and one of the best meats from Amsterdam. The prices are good, regarding... More

We ate here on our last night in Amsterdam on the strength of of other reviews coupled with the look of the place from the window. Although it was quiet, there was still a nice atmosphere inside. The food was excellent, particularly the duck with chocolate ( I know it sounds odd but it tasted wonderful). The staff were attentive... More

We dined here twice on a recent visit to Amsterdam and would happily return. The restaurant is canal side and kitted out in modern brasserie style. Service is friendly and prompt. The menu is quite short but inventive. We had beef tartare and octopus to start with followed by Iberico pork neck cooked slowly for months and an amazing duck... More

We were recommended this restaurant by the staff at the Hoxton. It's located in a nice neighbourhood with view out of the canal. The staff were very attentive, but the atmosphere was relaxed. We had a table by the window, and I could not fault all 3 course, and the amazing cocktails. A really superb culinary experience.

I was super disappointed that a top ten ranking restaurant opposite my hotel had no seats available, and so happened upon de Luwte on my way back from the Anne Frank House - and am so glad! The atmosphere and décor are very inviting – warm and cozy – lots of pale wood, big barn-style lights over some of the... More

My girlfriend and I ate here last night and it was amazing. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. We both had the scallops and beef tenderloin with a bottle of Argentinian wine and 2 cocktails to top it all off. Highly recommend it!

Last Saturday we had dinner in Restaurant the Luwte. It's a very cozy restaurant and we were lucky to get the window table, overlooking the canal. My boyfriend had the beef tartar as an appetizer and I had the pumpkin soup, both really nice dishes. As a main we shared the Tomahawk steak! One of the best pieces of meat... More

My boyfriend and I had a perfect diner at De Luwte. We had a lovely waiter who served us very well, had good product knowledge and treated us perfectly. The food is very nice and the portions are not too big neither too small which leaves you with a perfectly satisfied feeling. The catch of the day we had was... More
