Above average food and good service

Well presented food in a canal side setting. An outside table better in warm weather as inside gets a bit warm

Loved De Luwte! We had Lara as our server and she was amazing. She made our evening! We sat outside along the canal on a bright sunny day and it was just fabulous. Food and wine were great! Would definitely come back again.

Our group had been out sightseeing all day and were starting to get hungry when we wandered by this restaurant. A nice woman outside the restaurant highly recommended it so we did not hesitate to put our name down for a reservation. We returned 20 minutes later when they opened and were treated like royalty. The service was excellent, and... More

We just happened to be walking by this before they opened for dinner. After checking the menu and looking at the review, a passerby Bay Area couple recommended it. The food across the board was very good. The wait staff easily accommodated our group of 7 and were a fun and lively bunch. The Oysters were exceptional and definitely order... More

Our B&B hosts recommended this and it was the best spot of Amsterdam. Surf and turf was a pork belly with shrimp on surimi salad. Yum. It was the dessert that caught my attention- the "flexible chocolate" was an s shaped rope of ganache interspersed with fruits and sorbets. My lemon cheesecake was very lemony with a surprise of lemon... More

This was the first restaurant we visited in Amsterdam and it was a great experience. The food was amazing, and the cocktail menu was very well done. Be sure to reserve in advance - it was very busy the night we were there. Excellent location as well; very close to the 9 Streets and Anne Frank House.

Stumbled across this restuarant as staying nearby and on a Monday night hard to judge if it was a good place or not as generally everywhere was quiet. I ended up having a 3 course meal as the service was friendly and not intimidating - Mitchell was super helpful and worth mentioning in this review. Not bistro or fine dining... More

My husband and I spent 3 nights in Amsterdam and on our last night we ate at de Luwte which was a recommendation from our apartment host. We didn't have a reservation and the restaurant was full but we were offered a place to eat at the bar which we accepted. A great decision. Our meals were delicious and Mitch... More

After travelling for a couple of weeks in Europe this local spot looked low key and attractive. A nice position by the canal with an always engaging passing world. Little did we expect the quality on offer. We began with a shared entree of scallops with chorizo o mashed potato with drizzled truffle oil. Excellent! The significant other was very... More
