Slightly quirky, excellent food

Great dining experience. a relatively small range of starters, mains and desserts but all were very high quality. Cannibal toast was a great twist on Steak Tartare - followed by a herb-crusted venison. The highlight was a delicious cheese plate with an amazing and uniquely flavoured truffle... read more

Nice little restaraunt as far as atmosphere, but the food was marginal. Very pricey for the meals. I ordered a steak medium which came out rare both the first AND second time. Staff offered to cook it AGAIN but at this point the steak would no longer have been any good. Parts that were cooked were ok, nothing special (considering... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel and it was great. The food was so fresh and delicious. Nice atmosphere with inside and outside dining. I really enjoyed the fish of the day and my husband and the rack of deer. It had a good feel to it and the staff were friendly and service well timed. Price... More

We stumbled on this attractive restaurant while strolling near dinner time, so we took a chance and lucked out. Although somewhat expensive, it was worth the splurge. The food is creative and tasteful, using inventive combinations of ingredients. The cheesecake was to die for! A keeper.

Within walking distance of our hotel, The Pulitzer. It has both indoor and outdoor dining and a very nice interesting menu. The staff is lovely as is the ambience.

The poor wait staff - three New Yorkers stumble into a restaurant...we were hot and hungry and probably too demanding - but they were patient, friendly, and very accommodating. We were late for our reservation and asked to sit outside. There were no free tables so they sat us inside, but when a table freed up they moved us and... More

This wonderful spot instantly elevated our view of Dutch dining possibilities. Menu and wine list are condensed, but offer inventive options with Dutch roots. Staff is helpful and friendly, vibe is fine. Started with a seared sea scallop-mussel-chorizo appetizer that was outstanding. Entrees were a "saddle" of North Sea cod presented on carrot-ginger puree with a vegetable dice . .... More

Great and cozy restaurant right by a quiet canal. Food was good according to price. Service was out of the ordinary compared to the price. Go there, you will no be disappointed.

De Luwte is located very near the lovely Herengracht canal. You can eat outside or in; it was rainy so we ate indoor. Our waitress was charming and educational about Amsterdam life; a great interest to my wife and I. The food was delicious. I had cod and my wife had a pumpkin filled phyllo vegetarian meal. Both were great.... More

On a canal in a lovely location, small, helpful and friendly staff. We are gluten-free and it was no problem. The food was delicious, we would definitely go back. On a warm Saturday evening, it was such fun to sit at one of the tables outside--get a reservation--and watch the locals sit by the canal and drink and eat, even... More
