Not like my moeders (mother's) cooking

Which isn't a bad thing! My mom was a pretty good cook, but Moeder is a little bit better. We were just walking by one day an happend to need a drink and a snack. So we popped in. Glad we did! The decor is unique - Pictures of mothers on every square inch of every wall. My wife and... read more

From the moment we stepped in the door we felt welcome. We didnt book and were lucky to get in as lots of people were turned away after us. The photos of mothers all over the walls is very touching and warming. The food was great and tasted just like a mother would make. It was reasonably priced too which... More

This occasion was a fammily mmeal. Mmmy husband and mmyself were in the fine commpany of his Dad and his Dad's wife! All three are Ammsterdammers; I amm Canadian. Mmy Mmichael says it's traditional Dutch food that is served and has rated its cuisine as average. Mmmy Mmmichael says that the concept is good! It's a cute little restaurant ...the... More

As an expat, I have often mentioned to my family that Dutch food is bland, heavy, and not vegetarian friendly. I had to eat my words, and every last crumb of my supper, after visiting Moeders.I took my parents here during a recent visit, and we were delighted with our vegetarian stamppot, hotchpotch, homemade soup, and dessert. They also have... More

We saw this from Trip Advisor reviews and were also recommended by Canal House staff. Very relaxed cafe environment and good choice. Staff were very friendly. We had Dover dole and ribs for our main courses and they we're very well cooked. Don't go expecting a gourmet meal; this is as close to home cooking as you can expect in... More

While it may be Dutch cuisine, it is geared towards tourists. Plenty of better more authentic food elsewhere (like in Jordaan). They would not serve me water without ordering a drink. The wait staff was rude. And I had to correct their bill as they overcharged. Not a good experience. Atmosphere is cool though.

Moeder's was by far the best place we had dinner or lunch during our trip to Amsterdam. We showed up just as they opened for lunch this way we would get a table. We had tried to book for dinner the night before but they were booked up. The decor as previously stated is very cute with picture's of moms... More

The restaurant isnt all that big and it's popular so even getting a table mid week will require a wait. If it is a must try, make a reservation if you can. Really enjoyed my meal here. Had a great cafloutis appetizer and hotchpotch entree. Both were very good (actually really lived the cafloutis). The hotchpotch is a heavy meal.... More

After reading the reviews on Tripadvisor we booked a table before our stay! I'm sure if we had not, we would not have been able to get a table. Very busy - fantastic atmosphere - lovely food - outstanding service and staff. We recomended to all we met during our stay - will certainly return. Thank you for a lovely... More

The restaurant is really homey and the food was delicious. We were in Amsterdam for a week and went there twice.
