I liked this for dinner when we visited. We had never heard of this type of food - so wanted to try one. Its more food than you could imagine. I liked the food - but it took only 5 minutes for the food to arrive - for a party of 8. That was a bit disconcerting - like they... More

The place is a little bit dark inside. The service is good and the food also. I ordered the rijstafel (rice table) which was very tasty, with different flavours. Be prepared to eat a lot if you order it, because it is a bowl of rice with other 40 bowls with meats and vegetables! Nice experience!

We were particularly looking for an Indonesian restaurant for lunch but I fear this was disappointing. The very ordinary fast food was pre-prepared but to not a very high standard and then crammed into a soup bowl. We had a much better quick meal at a fraction of the price in a crowded pub in Leeds a few days later.

Ate in the crowded bar but the waiters and bar staff were so friendly while we waited on our table it added to the experience. We had the rijsttafel and the chef even made me a fully vegetarian option. It was massive, like 10 plates each, but delicious and a total experience. Highly recommended.

I'm not a big fan of Indonesian cuisine, but I was taken here with a group (work-related dinner). I must say the meat was really good. On the other hand, we were cramped in a table where we couldn't move a single muscle. The place is small and uses space in a very intensive way.

This restaurant has been a family favourite for many years. Whenever we visit our family in Amsterdam, this is a stop for dinner. It was once again this September and it was truly disappointing. The rijsttafel dishes are prepared in advance, so everything arrives within 15 minutes. McDonald's does a better job with advance preparation. The gado gado was thrown... More

Very old place in the center of Amsterdam. If you don't know Indonesian food this is where you want to go. Lots of dishes to try from. Make sure to book a table otherwise you won't find a place

The rijstaffel was great. A lot of spicy dishes with chili though so it became a little one not. The beef with cumin was my favorite.

The meal we had in Sama sebo was poor and disappointing. The food was average - minus, far from being rich interesting taste of Indonesian food, the service was rude and arrogant. Me and my husband finished our dinner in 25 minutes and were happy it was over.

Food is boring and not very tasty. Service is sloppy and apathetic. Poor value for money. There are a lot of better restaurants in this beautiful city.
