Nice find in De Pijp

We dined here on a Wednesday and had no trouble getting a table. In fact, since we were only one of two occupied tables in the place, I would have expected more attentive service. That's all I can even vaguely complain about as the food and ambiance were both quite lovely. My husband and I each... read more

The tapas were very good and quite reasonably priced. We had salad, fried fish balls, cheese, tomato toast, baked chorizo and eggs, and other little dishes which were all very good. We also had a fantastic red wine which was quite strong but extremely good. Service was friendly, and inside, everyone was glued to a football match on TV. The... More

The tapas in this place are good and a good variety. These 2 guys are very friendly as well. Perfect for a end of afternoon beer/ wine in the sun.

After an afternoon conference, this was a great little find. There was just one cook, and one waiter, so eat here if you're just interested in spending an evening with a good drink and some tapas on the sidewalk. It's a quiet street with a few other cafés, is friendly and the food is tasty. According to the menu, they... More

Went there with the family while on a long weekend in Amsterdam. The place is quite busy. Food is very good and staff are friendly. Had to wait to be served as it was quite late in the evening and it was very busy (all tables were booked). Found some gems I hadn't tried for years like esqueixada. Conveniently located... More

I am from Barcelona and honestly its nice to taste the local products when you live away from home, so I enjoyed some features of this place. The menu is very simple, made from imported products but no elaboration at all, directly took from the can. Too expensive.I hate when you arrive to a place and you feel like you... More

We very sorry you got this impression from us the day of the Champions League Final. As far I remember you we were'nt rude at ll with u. Anycase, about the discussion we got with the other costumer you refered, it would be much more honest if you could also explain the reasons of this dispute. Don't hide any part... More

Small, friendly place with good Catalán cuisine. In a quiet area with a loyal clientele. Opens early for FC Barcelona matches!

If you would like to know the Catalan cuisine, this is the place to do it from Amsterdam. Good products from Catalonia and very good service. I'll return in my next visit in Amsterdam.

We where here to celebrate a birthday and made a reservation. After waiting for an hour to order drinks and food we finally had some platters. The taste wasn't what we,a group of 8 so a large variety, expected. It tasted like it came out of pots and cans. The sangria tasted like perfume, the housewine was good. There is... More

I love this authentic Catalan corner in De Pijp. Delicious food and perfect service, plus the best gin&tonic you can get in Amsterdam.

Staying in De Pijp

Neighborhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
