We where here to celebrate a birthday and made a reservation. After waiting for an hour to order drinks and food we finally had some platters. The taste wasn't what we,a group of 8 so a large variety, expected. It tasted like it came out of pots and cans. The sangria tasted like perfume, the housewine was good. There is... More

I love this authentic Catalan corner in De Pijp. Delicious food and perfect service, plus the best gin&tonic you can get in Amsterdam.

Hi - just to establish my street cred I lived in Barcelona for 4 years and have a bit of experience with Catalan and Spanish cuisine. The guys here are 100% Catalan and the food represents their heritage. Everything was fantastic - will definitely return on or next visit to Amsterdam.

Although a fairly small place to eat (there was seating outside also), we spent a Friday evening here for food and drinks. The place was quiet when we entered, but soon got busy. The 2 men who worked there worked very hard, and even when it got busy, the service levels didn't drop at all. The food was as good,... More

Restaurants close early in Amsterdam, and we were beginning to give up hope of dinner after staying late at the Van Gogh Museum on Friday night. But Taverna Barcelona was still bustling, and the owner welcomed the late-night trade. It's a casual, neighborhood place. The food choices are limited and not really authentic Spanish, but everything we ate was good.

We were originally going out for sushi with some friends one night. When we got there, the sushi place was so crowded and loud that we left and walked down the street. After almost giving up and going home, we saw Taverna Barcelona. I'm glad we did. Taverna is a very cozy place with great family-style service. It’s not big... More

Don't miss it! Real Catalan food in the heart of Amsterdam (pijp). The food is fresh authentic, atmosphere perfect, the guys running it are very nice. When we miss Barcelona we eat there and for many other reasons

We've been going here for many years now, sitting outside on the sunny terrace and enjoying excellent cava or some really great wines (try the 2003 Montsant DO!) alongside very good quality small and larger dishes in the style of the owners' homeland Catalonia. The espresso and the brandies are also very good as well. The interior is pleasantly decorated,... More
