Description: Fifteen restaurant in Amsterdam is an exciting offshoot of Jamie Oliver’s famous Fifteen London, a great example of one set of dynamic, generous people inspiring others to act. In this case, the ‘others’ are Sarriel Taus and Coen Alewijnse who have created this combination restaurant and chef’s school in partnership with Fifteen London to benefit the struggling young people of Amsterdam. So what’s it like at the dining end of the equation? Very cool. The arty cosmopolitan style includes vibrant graffiti-scrawled sheet metal walls contrasting nice with the smart, sleek modern lines, designer seating and white table cloths. The restaurant seats up to 200, yet can still feel right for an dinner a deux. Each night a tasting menu is on offer, inspired by Jamie Oliver incorporating only the freshest regional produce. The modern Italian menu changes weekly and includes one of Jamie’s favourite antipasti to start, a first dish of fresh pasta, gnocchi or risotto, second course of meat, fish, poultry or game, and, we’re quoting here, ‘a wicked dessert’. A wine tasting menu is available to match the food tasting menu, or choose your own from the excellent list.

Ate at Envy early August and Without doubt the guys at Envy have it just right. The food was exceptional, beyond reproach and the ambience and service was to die for (although the first waitress was not the most helpful). I can honestly say I have never eaten peri peri chicken quite like it and every dish we ordered was... More

We landed in Amsterdam on Sun. noon and start to walk in our hotel area for a quiet lunch when we saw Envy. they had only 2-3 tables outside and we took one of them. We had a soup and a salad that were very fresh and tasty, just what we need in a new city/

Had a great meal at Envy. Was close to our hotel and would eat there again. Service and Food were exceptional and the price was really reasonable.

I had the six course Chef's Choice at Envy and each of those were good. :D Pretty expensive at 80 euros though but the ambience is perfect :)

Well, I suppose it's sometimes hard to find a restaurant that ISN'T by a canal, but this is different. Interesting, thoughtful flavours, small delicate servings and attentive and friendly service. The cheeses were good and the fennel sausage outstanding,

Most deforest one of the best restaurants I've ever been at! Food is not conventional, but ingredients are all fresh, local or imported from the best places, and combined with magisterial taste. An unforgettable experience! Go have an aperitif at the Vyne, just 20 meters away.

This restaurant, amongst many others, is recommended in the Daily Telegraph City Guide. It is situated on a quiet canal, the Prinsegracht, very near the Westerkirk and the Ann Frank Museum. We reserved but in early August when the locals go away there were plenty of spaces. We ate outside and that added to the very pleasant atmosphere. The wine... More

Our last night in Amsterdam and we had no idea where to eat. We found Restaurant Envy, what a perfect "last meal". We sat outside so the backdrop to our meal was the beautiful Prinsengracht. We never expected the food to top the view- but it did! We tried food that we wouldn't have normally thought to try- even the... More
