Description: Fifteen restaurant in Amsterdam is an exciting offshoot of Jamie Oliver’s...
Fifteen restaurant in Amsterdam is an exciting offshoot of Jamie Oliver’s famous Fifteen London, a great example of one set of dynamic, generous people inspiring others to act. In this case, the ‘others’ are Sarriel Taus and Coen Alewijnse who have created this combination restaurant and chef’s school in partnership with Fifteen London to benefit the struggling young people of Amsterdam. So what’s it like at the dining end of the equation? Very cool. The arty cosmopolitan style includes vibrant graffiti-scrawled sheet metal walls contrasting nice with the smart, sleek modern lines, designer seating and white table cloths. The restaurant seats up to 200, yet can still feel right for an dinner a deux. Each night a tasting menu is on offer, inspired by Jamie Oliver incorporating only the freshest regional produce. The modern Italian menu changes weekly and includes one of Jamie’s favourite antipasti to start, a first dish of fresh pasta, gnocchi or risotto, second course of meat, fish, poultry or game, and, we’re quoting here, ‘a wicked dessert’. A wine tasting menu is available to match the food tasting menu, or choose your own from the excellent list.

Great food

Amazing food! Can really recommend chef's choice, 4 or 5 courses! Everything was absolutely perfect, and the price is definitely affordable. Unfortunately, what keeps me from giving this place a full score is the service. It started very good, but during the meal it became worse and worse, and in... read more

When we entered this restaurant we were pleasantly suprised by the great location and superb interior. It all looks so good! A very modern long narrow room with an open kitchen and 34 lamps hanging in a row over the lined up tables. The food is excellent. The 4/5 course meals consist of high quality small portions of superb meat... More

Oh my, oh my... This was one of our favorite gastro-experiences while in Europe! We opted for the tasting menu and got a chance to sample several exquisite dishes that not only tasted absolutely delicious, but looked like masterpieces as well. Highly recommended and truly enjoyed!

We had dinner at Envy, and overall the quality of the food and service was really good. It's a tapas style restaurant so the portions are really small. They recommend that you order about two mains (10 - 12 euros per main) and a few appetizers (4 - 5 euros per appetizer) for a meal. Again, the portions are really... More

The food was indeed excellent but the service was very bad. It ruins the total experience. They were short on staff and did not have any attention or time for the customer. The food was thrown on the table as if you were eating in an American diner. They treated you as if it was best to not ask too... More

Had been looking forward to eating here with the goods reviews and many 'badges' on the restaurant window. 1st impression do count and before we had sat at a long bench table in pairs our waitress was asking for a drinks order! Food and wine ordered it came in VERY small batches. One starter of bread with oil. and flavoured... More

We were lucky to wander past this incredible restaurant and get a table on the patio. Inside was fully booked with reservations. Food was exceptional. Deserving of all the awards that they so proudly display in their window. Portions are small but so flavourful. Wonderful meal.

Unbelievable! Sat scrunched up like a motorway cafe, too warm, very dark especially the toilets! Food tasted ok but nothing special and far too expensive for what you got! Couldn't believe how tiny the portions were! We eat out loads and have visited some amazing restaurants and this one is over priced and a joke! We paid 30 euros for... More

We went to Envy having been recommended by a friend. The food was perfectly good but not specious, the service was mediocre and the meal was pretty expensive. I imagine there are much better restaurants in Amsterdam and certainly better value ones.
