Description: Fifteen restaurant in Amsterdam is an exciting offshoot of Jamie Oliver’s famous Fifteen London, a great example of one set of dynamic, generous people inspiring others to act. In this case, the ‘others’ are Sarriel Taus and Coen Alewijnse who have created this combination restaurant and chef’s school in partnership with Fifteen London to benefit the struggling young people of Amsterdam. So what’s it like at the dining end of the equation? Very cool. The arty cosmopolitan style includes vibrant graffiti-scrawled sheet metal walls contrasting nice with the smart, sleek modern lines, designer seating and white table cloths. The restaurant seats up to 200, yet can still feel right for an dinner a deux. Each night a tasting menu is on offer, inspired by Jamie Oliver incorporating only the freshest regional produce. The modern Italian menu changes weekly and includes one of Jamie’s favourite antipasti to start, a first dish of fresh pasta, gnocchi or risotto, second course of meat, fish, poultry or game, and, we’re quoting here, ‘a wicked dessert’. A wine tasting menu is available to match the food tasting menu, or choose your own from the excellent list.

Great food, food for both the eye and the mouth! Charming waiters! Take the time to explain in a very nice way. They even have time to add some humor in a very suffisticated way. Beautiful interior! I love the open kitchen where you see the artists cooks at work. I love the glass wall with the fridges where you... More

Envy is one of three sister restaurants along Prinsengracht, Envy, Lust and Vyne. They all have interesting atmospheres and an enjoyable bit whimsey. This is probably not the place to go, if you are in a rush or if you like your roast beef well done. If you have some time to people- and canal watch, though, and you like... More

My best friend and I dined here for Saturday lunch – we were shown to our table and given menus. We were surprised to see a set lunch menu available and both opted for this (4 courses for €35). All of our dishes were superb – small dishes but full of flavour and freshness – the sea bream was especially... More

I must admit that I did not do any research as to where to eat in Amsterdam. We just happened to walk past the restaurant - we stayed at the Hotel Pulitzer nearby, liked the look of the restaurant & the menu and were very glad that we ate there. We enjoyed Dinner by Heston (London) the week before &... More

This was our last meal in Amsterdam. We were looking for something a little nicer and stumbled past this restaurant. It was exactly what we were looking for. The staff helped us pick a variety of the items to share, and we enjoyed everything.

Really, really good restaurant! Can highly recomend this restaurant. I am quite a picky restaurant visitor, and I spend both a lot of money and time visiting good restaurants. The meny at Envy and the quality of the food they are serving is just excellent. Also the service levels is good.

Nice staff, great food. Like all restaurants in Amsterdam, don't be in a hurry, as dining is an experience not a race there. Great meat & cheeses.

I love the way you walk in the restaurant.. Passing by the kitchen, saying hello the chef's and seeing them working with all those fresh ingredients. You get hungry straight away! I really like to share dishes so we took some small pieces of different meat, some specialities and we had some cheese at the end. I don't find it... More

Ok let me start with this... The food is to die for!!! Very good quality vary yummy and attention to detail and presentation was fantastic. The restaurant itself was very well decorated, modern chic, contemporary and the fact that the fridges of the kitchen was the wall decor was so cool BUT...! The service was so slow... I understand that... More

This restaurant in the Jordaan district is in the heart of an area known for being trendy and yet laid back. I found the staff very helpful in suggesting foods and wines. I sat at their long bar and tried some of the salami, the chicken and a mango dessert. The portions are small, as is consistent with a small... More
