Description: Fifteen restaurant in Amsterdam is an exciting offshoot of Jamie Oliver’s...
Fifteen restaurant in Amsterdam is an exciting offshoot of Jamie Oliver’s famous Fifteen London, a great example of one set of dynamic, generous people inspiring others to act. In this case, the ‘others’ are Sarriel Taus and Coen Alewijnse who have created this combination restaurant and chef’s school in partnership with Fifteen London to benefit the struggling young people of Amsterdam. So what’s it like at the dining end of the equation? Very cool. The arty cosmopolitan style includes vibrant graffiti-scrawled sheet metal walls contrasting nice with the smart, sleek modern lines, designer seating and white table cloths. The restaurant seats up to 200, yet can still feel right for an dinner a deux. Each night a tasting menu is on offer, inspired by Jamie Oliver incorporating only the freshest regional produce. The modern Italian menu changes weekly and includes one of Jamie’s favourite antipasti to start, a first dish of fresh pasta, gnocchi or risotto, second course of meat, fish, poultry or game, and, we’re quoting here, ‘a wicked dessert’. A wine tasting menu is available to match the food tasting menu, or choose your own from the excellent list.

A friend of ours lives and works in Amsterdam and recommended Envy to us so we made a booking and she and her colleague came along. The whole table were foreigners from the UK, NZ, Canada and other places in Europe. After a busy day of running around we called a couple hours ahead of our booking to push it... More

Probably the worst customer experience I have ever had thanks to rude arrogant duty manager who felt the need to kick out our seated table of 6 because we didn't want to order the tasting menu! What a joke - steer clear unless you enjoy being treated like trash. To the real mgmt: I can see a few other poor... More

Firstly, the staff are brilliant. Friendly, helpful, enthusiastic and dynamic... The menu looks very reasonable but the food is tapas style so it's not as reasonable as you first think! That said it is worth it. We went big and ordered the superior chef's tasting platter with 5 courses. It was sensational. I loved everything... My advice, don't eat any... More

Absolutely stunning food!!! Great wine and fabulous ambiance. Definitely worth a visit - sharing small plates of excellent quality! Look forward to going back - this was recommended by our hotel and honestly quickly became my very favourite restaurant!

We stop by and make 730p reservations in person and the Rude Skinny Male Blond Manager ("RSMBM") offers us seating for me, wife and daughter at one of the spots on the communal tables with stools. Having walked through 2 museums and 8 miles of Amstertired, I insisted on a table with chairs/seatback. RSMBM then says we made a late... More

I spent 4 days in Amsterdam with my wife and have visited several well recommended restaurants. Envy was one of them. The place is really beautiful. A bit to dark, but cool, with a great tables display and a enormous back bar with coolers showing from cheese to beer. The food was good, with a menu with focus on tasting... More

This place was great! We went on a recommendation form a friend and had the Chiefs taster menu. The food was amazing and there was a great selection of plates from meat to fish to vegetables. The dessert was sublime and the best part. Service was great and the atmosphere allowed you to relax but also feel part of a... More

I think this was my favorite meal in Amsterdam. We did the restaurant's special anniversary tasting menu (around 50 Euro), which was exceptional. It was six courses and each one was tasty. It started with an array of Italian meats (which would normally be enough for dinner). Other standout courses were the Himachi, the scallops (in some sort of truffle... More

Although trip advisor does not give high rate to this restaurant, we have enjoyed it a lot. We selected a chefs choice five course meal- 50 euros per person is not cheap but in my opinion worth it. The portions are small but altogether sufficient. Every portion is perfectly prepared , delicious sauces. If you are looking for a large... More
