Description: Fifteen restaurant in Amsterdam is an exciting offshoot of Jamie Oliver’s famous Fifteen London, a great example of one set of dynamic, generous people inspiring others to act. In this case, the ‘others’ are Sarriel Taus and Coen Alewijnse who have created this combination restaurant and chef’s school in partnership with Fifteen London to benefit the struggling young people of Amsterdam. So what’s it like at the dining end of the equation? Very cool. The arty cosmopolitan style includes vibrant graffiti-scrawled sheet metal walls contrasting nice with the smart, sleek modern lines, designer seating and white table cloths. The restaurant seats up to 200, yet can still feel right for an dinner a deux. Each night a tasting menu is on offer, inspired by Jamie Oliver incorporating only the freshest regional produce. The modern Italian menu changes weekly and includes one of Jamie’s favourite antipasti to start, a first dish of fresh pasta, gnocchi or risotto, second course of meat, fish, poultry or game, and, we’re quoting here, ‘a wicked dessert’. A wine tasting menu is available to match the food tasting menu, or choose your own from the excellent list.

Really, really good restaurant! Can highly recomend this restaurant. I am quite a picky restaurant visitor, and I spend both a lot of money and time visiting good restaurants. The meny at Envy and the quality of the food they are serving is just excellent. Also the service levels is good.

Nice staff, great food. Like all restaurants in Amsterdam, don't be in a hurry, as dining is an experience not a race there. Great meat & cheeses.

I love the way you walk in the restaurant.. Passing by the kitchen, saying hello the chef's and seeing them working with all those fresh ingredients. You get hungry straight away! I really like to share dishes so we took some small pieces of different meat, some specialities and we had some cheese at the end. I don't find it... More

The restaurant itself was very well decorated, modern chic, contemporary and the fact that the fridges of the kitchen was the wall decor was so cool BUT...! The service was so slow... I understand that... More

This restaurant in the Jordaan district is in the heart of an area known for being trendy and yet laid back. I found the staff very helpful in suggesting foods and wines. I sat at their long bar and tried some of the salami, the chicken and a mango dessert. The portions are small, as is consistent with a small... More

The restaurant itself is a very narrow long place where the availbal space is effectively used. Modern, treny, relatively dark interior with high and low tables, open kitchen, good atmoshere. The concept is of small dishes which can be shared, good menu and good winelist. We took the Chef's menu of Euro 59,- which offers most of the Chef's specialties. It... More

If you want a thrilling dinner experience, look no further. Envy has a very sassy decor, an experimental food format and enthusiastic service. The build up is such that you are led to believe that you are about to enjoy a culinary experience akin to a junior El Buli or Fat Duck. Unfortunately the food is not up to it.... More

Wow --- walked in on a busy Saturday night, knowing we didn't have an invitation and the Maitre' D said he was full up - we made sad face :( - told him it was our last night in the city and he made it all work. It was early (6:45 or so). Really great - we did the set... More
