Description: Fifteen restaurant in Amsterdam is an exciting offshoot of Jamie Oliver’s famous Fifteen London, a great example of one set of dynamic, generous people inspiring others to act. In this case, the ‘others’ are Sarriel Taus and Coen Alewijnse who have created this combination restaurant and chef’s school in partnership with Fifteen London to benefit the struggling young people of Amsterdam. So what’s it like at the dining end of the equation? Very cool. The arty cosmopolitan style includes vibrant graffiti-scrawled sheet metal walls contrasting nice with the smart, sleek modern lines, designer seating and white table cloths. The restaurant seats up to 200, yet can still feel right for an dinner a deux. Each night a tasting menu is on offer, inspired by Jamie Oliver incorporating only the freshest regional produce. The modern Italian menu changes weekly and includes one of Jamie’s favourite antipasti to start, a first dish of fresh pasta, gnocchi or risotto, second course of meat, fish, poultry or game, and, we’re quoting here, ‘a wicked dessert’. A wine tasting menu is available to match the food tasting menu, or choose your own from the excellent list.

we let chef choose our 4 course menu. Every course was a delight, and we matched with wines by the glass, there was a good choice. We would definitely go back. One ever so minor criticism - the low level lighting which was dimmed further as the evening got later.

We got lucky to be able to reserve a table in Envy, after I read so many good things about it, and so we were very curious if it would live up to the expectations... Well, YES! the place is easy to find in Amsterdam, and the service is kind and friendly, with attention to detail. The food was GORGEOUS,... More

We came here as part of our Restaurant Week Dining experience, even though I pass by the restaurant almost every day. It doesn't look big from outside, but it is rather spacious and lovely inside. They have a set menu, that was superb, and a variety of wines and gins! To our surprise they had a lot of gins to... More

The concierge at the Pulitzer Hotel recommended Envy for lunch. It was amazing. I like to try local cuisine so order something I had never eaten before. I was incredible! The cheese and vegetables were so fresh and the flavor full.

I went there with a group of friends from London and we each had three courses. The food was nice but not amazing. The sausages are a bit disappointing as being English I expected a real sausage but it is in fact salami. Most of what I ate I could have brought in a shop such as the cold meat... More

Though only in Amsterdam for three nights, I ate there two. First night I did a la carte, the second night the tasting menu. Both were excellent. I sat across from the open kitchen which was a treat, like watching a ballet. The food was excellent, not over the top, and price modest by European standards. I loved it.

We chose the chef's recommended menu, and from start to finish we were delighted. The service was top notch and each dish was described with enthusiasm. The down side was determining if we were in a bar or a restaurant, but it is lively. We will go again.

A lively restaurant with creative dishes, friendly service, but cannot be compared to any Michelin star restaurants, this is more like a mix between a wine bar and a restaurant since half of the restaurant sit and eat on the bar like tables, having said that, I would love to go back again and highly recommend it to others.

This is a fabulous restaurant serving adventurous food in a relaxed setting. We went for the Monday night special - a five course tasting menu for 36 Euro a head. The food is absolutely michelin standard and amazing value for the price.
