Description: Open since 1972, Bistro Bonjour French restaurant has an outdoor terrace overlooking the lovely Keizersgracht canal. Set around halfway between Waterlooplein and the Rijksmuseum, the restaurant's central location makes it a popular spot with tourists visiting the local area. Magere Brug - a typically Dutch wooden bridge - is also just around the corner. The menu is a celebration of traditional French cuisine and changes seasonally. Appetisers include steamed mussels, fried frog's legs and French onion soup. Mains are based on fish and meat, though there are vegetarian options, including a dish of the day. The desserts are also just as mouthwatering: chocolate mousse, crpe flambe and crme brule are just some of the options. To wash it all down, there is a good selection of French wines. In the evenings Bistro Bonjour is lit by candlelight - a very romantic way to enjoy a meal out in Amsterdam.

Nice little french restaurant in Amsterdam. They have a set menue (20-22 EUR), which is very good. Not a huge selection of wines, but ok. The staff is very friendly and we had a fantastic evening at Bonjour. If you go to Amsterdam, be sure to drop by Bonjour to have a nice meal. More

This isva good value " local" . Traditional french bistro cooking. Menu doesnt change that oftenbso easy to get menu "fatigue". Wines are well priced. And your mains come with a large portion of vegetables and chips. No need to pay for overpriced " extras". Easy to get to and can often be very busy. More

I had a friend in from the UK, who happens to be a vegetarian. We were looking for a place that offered a nice mix for carnivores, with enough options for my veggie friend. I happen to enjoy french cooking and am very glad to find Bonjour. It is a nice place tucked away on one of the prettier canals.... More

A must VISIT when in Amsterdam.!!!!! Delicious food, fast and pleasant service, great waiter. placed on the keizergracht canal which is one of the most beautiful canals of Amsterdam. Living in the centre of Amsterdam we have plenty of choice for having dinner on walking distance. We keep coming back here for the excellent menu, good service and great hospitality! We can highly recommend this restaurant, located on one of the famous canals in the city. Our son is always surprised by the lovely desserts (which is his favorite... More

Food was not impressive, wine list is good. Sitting inside is lacking air and light (located half-underground). Service is OK. WIll not come again for dinner, but probably for lunch outside. More

Nice central hidden french restaurant in a cellar by the canal, good value for money. I would not go for the starters though since they were not really worth it but go directly on the great main courses (the lamb, duck or veal for instance), nice desserts too! More

Across from where I have been staying at Utrechtsstraat and Keizersgracht in Amsterdam is this very modest appearing basement restaurant. Walk inside and enter a warm, friendly place that gives you the feeling of comfort. I wanted beef when a friend and I set out for dinner. We just happened to walk across to a seldom used route and noticed... More
