Lovely outdoor seating area, great service and food was ok. This is a lovely restaurant with a great reputation. We were very well looked after, nice table complimentary water and service with a smile. The downside was half of the food served. My mushrooms with snails was very good indeed, the salad for my good lady was equally very good.... More

We wanted good food, a relaxed place and a Dutch experience. Food: Great food, my personal favourite was the Seabass, but the other main courses looked very good indeed The service was great, relaxed, with good sense of humour. Dutch experience... Well of course there were foreigners (like ourselves) there, after all it is central Amsterdam, but it felt Dutch,... More

A place with warm nice atmosphere, good food and pleasant stuff. Very pleased with the experience. Though would probably never go and eat in this place if were just walking by. The place doesn't look very inviting from outside.

We ate here on the recomendation of our hotel and weren't disappointed. It has a relaxed atmosphere, certainly not fine dining but if you want good food then this is the place to come. Outside area as well as inside 'brown bar' style, good service, fresh food, decent house wine, not touristy - well worth a visit.

We came here after reading the reviews. It is best described by English standards as a slightly upmarket pub with a relaxed atmosphere. It actually has a small garden if the weather is nice. Don't be put off by the Dutch only menu outside. There is an English menu available and the very friendly staff are very happy to translate... More

Although you do not have to go far, just off Neumarket centrum. Atmosphere is being immersed into the local vibe, which I prefer when on vacation. Staff friendly and will take the time to explain menu for you, English menu is available. Food very good, the sea bass was one of my most favorite meals. My husband enjoyed the ribs... More

We were referred to Van Beeren by Abby the night clerk at Mauro Mansion. When we arrived it looked hopeless. A customer waiting outside of the front door for a table tried to discourage us saying if we didn't have a reservation we would not be seated. However, we were told by the staff that Van Beeren doesn't take reservations.... More

Good choice of dishes on the menu - each one expertly cooked and tasting delicious. Friendly service. Good atmosphere. And a friendly cat. What more could you want when eating in Amsterdam. Well worth searching for down the side street near Neuw-markt.

Our (fabulous Mauro Mansion) hotel staff recommended we try this restaurant. We ate there on our first night and were glad we did. It's an old Dutch bar down a side street (Koningsstraat) that you wouldn't necessarily find easily. We didn't see the garden outside as we arrive quite late. Wooden panelled walls, old tables, candles, small menu but plenty... More
