Dinner at Alfonso's

Had dinner here on Saturday night and could not fault the experience. Very nice meal - the tacos were excellent and were accompanied by rice and re fried beans. Staff were pleasant and all in all we enjoyed our visit.

Disappointed in so many ways. The Margarita was terrible. I was not served complementary chips and salsa like everyone else sitting around me. The food was mediocre at best.

Had a very disappointing Mexican meal. I'm from California where it's so easy to find good Mexican food, so that might the issue - it generally has good reviews, but to my taste buds it was just a mediocre meal.

Visited this restaurant whilst on holiday in Amsterdam. We arrived back in Amsterdam late following a day-trip outside the city, so we arrived at around 10 pm at this restaurant... as it was mid-week and quite late so we had no difficulty whatsoever to to find a table for two available. We ordered our food (fajitas with chicken for two)... More

Visited last night and had a lovely meal. Free tortilla chips and salsa on the table was a nice touch, although it meant I really didn't need a starter! We both had burritos and what a portion size!! Absolutely brilliant, plenty of everything you'd hope for- sour cream, guacamole etc, from an independent restaurant in a nice relaxed atmosphere. If... More

We came here on our first night in Amsterdam. It was a short walk from our hotel and we just came accross this place. It was the best meal we had over the 3 days. The restaurant was quiet but it was a rainy Sunday night. Service was fab. We both had the chorizo starter...would have easily have passed for... More

After a long walk in the city centre of Amsterdam, my family and I decided to go to this Mexican place. We were placed in a cosy corner and ordered some tortilla dishes. They were amazing and huge as well! I'm a big man myself and don't easily get stuffed that fast. That's a big plus for me! We also... More

My chimichanga was re heated. In the dead center it was still frozen. What a disappointment. The prices are a bit high in relation to the quality of the food in itself also.

I visited this place a number of times over the last few years, when I visit Amsterdam on business. The welcome is always welcome, the food is always tasty and the service is always friendly and fast. I would recommend this place for a lunch/dinner, for those of us who want a fuss free experience
