Reasonably authentic Mexican restaurant

Having lived in the USA we learned to love good Mexican food & finding a good restaurant in the Netherlands was challenging! Alfonso's was the closest we've come! The staff were friendly and the restaurant small & intimate (with typically scary Dutch stairs!). We enjoyed the selection of delicious... read more

Well, let me begin by saying that the place was awesome, friendly staft and great food. The fajitas were lovely. I will have no hesitation visiting this restaurant again in the future

I feel bad for the waitresses because they are truly trying their best and are friendly. But as a local this is definitely not a place to visit. The food was tasteless! And we walked 100 meters outside and pretty much ended up feeding the ducks with puke...stay away!

Having lived in the USA we learned to love good Mexican food & finding a good restaurant in the Netherlands was challenging! Alfonso's was the closest we've come! The staff were friendly and the restaurant small & intimate (with typically scary Dutch stairs!). We enjoyed the selection of delicious food although the margaritas could be better. Will we be back...definitely!

A friend of a friend in Amsterdam recommended this, and we enjoyed very much! We just had some simple dishes: burritos and enchiladas, but it was plenty. Definitely recommend it too.

Last night we went out to a cute little mexican restaurant called alfonso's. We were kindly received by the waitress and orderded a big special alfonso's menu. The food was very delicious although we could barely finish our plates because of the generous portions. The service was super quick and friendly and the prise was incredibly low for it's worth.... A friend recommended Alfonso's at the Utrechtstraat after her visit. As I am a Mexican food lover, I went there to try the fajitas. What I loved about it is that the meat was well seasoned. well served. I enjoyed it to the last bit. The service was fast and the waitress was friendly. On top, they had a nice... More

Yesterday I went to Alfonso's. I've been there before and in my opinion it's still the best Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. As usual I felt pleased with the food and the service was really friendly. I ordered Nacho's and faijtas and it was yummy! I can't wait to go there again!

WARNING! Not worth the money what so ever!! The restaurant was completely empty which should have tipped us off but since we were hungry we stayed. When our 'starter for two' arrived, we got something that looked like 6 turds on a plate. It didn't taste much better and we left right after. You are way better off going to... More

We fell upon this place as it is just around the corner from Rembrandt Square and along side the tram route 4 back to our hotel. The place was relatively quiet but it was a Wednesday evening but that did not put us off. The food was excellent looked freshly prepared and reasonably priced with good service. A cut above... The decoration was poor, quality of the food were below average. If you are a Mexcian food lover, this is not the best place to taste real Mexican food. Service was very fast, they have a variety of Mexican beers. Fajita is worth to try.
