Really good steak at affordable price

This restaurant was recommended to us by a bar man on the Spui. What a fantastic recommendation! The restaurant itself is in need of a bit of a revamp with the seat coverings being worn etc. The food was really good, we had steak, which was done on the chargrill and it melted in your mouth. We were initially drawn in via the "Tourist" menu in the window, advertising meals for up to about 10 euros, the waitress came outside to speak to us and so we were drawn in. We were initially slightly hesitant due to the fact it was very dark inside, quiet, empty and the walls had some surreal graffiti on them. However,... More

We visited here last week. A group of 10 of us. Quite a few of us had the €11 ribs chips and salad. Tasty, big portions and good value. Burger and steak looked good too.

I have never tried Uruguayan beef as it never occurred to me that it might be any better than British or Argentinian. But hey, we learn something new every day. The fillet I had was one of the best I have ever tried and I would highly recommend to anyone. Service was friendly and ambience was great overall.

I have been going here for 5 years and each time I visit this city I have to treat myself to one of the best steaks in the world. (possibly a slight exaggeration but it is fantastic). The open kitchen allows you to watch the chef cook your food on the charcoal grill right in full view of the restaurant.... More

First venture into an Uruguayan restaurant. The fixed menu price was the attraction. A lovely friendly atmosphere, the restaurant has an old fashioned feel to it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The meal - first course, main and then tea or coffee was really excellent. The starter - soup was tomato - not usually my favourite, but this... More

Food was plain, asked to get meat well done, was given it still raw. Sausgae given was not a chorizo as I had asked.

we visted this steak restaurant twice on a weekend break. There are so many steak houses in Amsterdam its overwhelming. We were both happy with our starters & main & the wine. Food was very tasty & good value. Service was excellent. I would only comment the place could do with a little TLC around the edges.

There are a lot of steakhouses in Amsterdam, so why choose this one? Well for one the food quality is exceptional, both of our steaks were done to our liking and had a lot of flavour. The sides of chips and salad both came as sharer plates between the both of us, which was a nice touch. Service was quick,... More
