Bridges Inspired by Ron Blaauw Bridges seafood restaurant is located at the front of Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam, the location and the building are special. Bridges restaurant is all about fish! The best 'fins' possible, caught at the best moment. Always in season, never out of it. We offer a large selection of mainly Dutch seafood, whether it is in the restaurant, the Bar or the Cocktail Bar. Local, organic vegetables complement the seafood; a perfect match of the sea meeting the land, with a French twist. The Wine Room is stocked with 'great whites'; fish just needs good 'vins'.

Food and service was terrific, albeit a little pricey with drinks. Overall would go back again. Sounds from others it depends on what your order...definitely on the fancy side so don;t go if you want a large steak!

Seriously, this is a very underrated Michelin One star restaurant. With a tad more training on the service side, I can see two stars in the future. 6 Course Tasting menu was 95 euros, can't beat that. However, food and presentation was excellent. Tandoori Chicken with Ratatouille, who would have thought? Wines are excellently paired, you can mix and match,... More

As you can see I've reviewed many dining (or eating) place around the world (actually never in Asia) from Michelin 3 star to hole-in-the-wall take outs & I can honestly say that my dinner at Bridges was the WORST eating experience EVER, especially as Michelin has given them a star or 2. The restaurant is clean & sleek but for... More

I was recommend from friend that I should try one of the best resto in the world. I though that They are crazy... It's turn out that my friends are absolutely right !!!! It's full with a exclusive preparation. Heavenly that you can eat. Splendid and extra ordinary experience. Don't impress with any meal in other restaurant after Bridges.

Had a delightful evening at Bridges. The staff were extremely attentive and knowledgeable, the food was beautifully cooked and presented and the wine list is to die for. We did not feel in the least bit rushed, the service speed was very relaxed. The coffee is some of the best I've ever had. If you're looking for some posh food... More

We had our meal on a Summer evening on the terrace of the beautiful Grand Hotel in Amsterdam. A quiet place in the middle of the red light district. We took the 5 course option. Started with lukewarm oyster in champagne sauce. We really enjoyed the bouillabaisse and the lobster dish from the menu. Everything was prepared with great eye... More

We dined at Bridges in June - one of three Michelin-starred restaurants we tried on three successive nights during a trip to Amsterdam. The food preparation and taste were both very good, but the service and overall environment embodied in Bridges lowered the experience. The feeling you got was what you'd get at a high-volume wedding reception dinner - just... More

Good location, friendly staff, trying to help and interact. The cuisine, unfortunately ... it's just not our cup of tea. We are food passionates and we are always looking for Michelin awarded restaurants wherever we go. At Bridges, we loved the presentation, great wines, but for us the food was a bit blunt and the flavours not really extraordinary coming... More

Went to Amsterdam start of july. Around 30C in the air. Had lunch at bridges in the beautiful back garden of the hotel. A 3 course lunch, With a couple of starters - really good. The langoustine was excellent, and nearly melts in the mouth. The halibut was also really good. Finally the citrus salad for dessert made the lunch... More

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
