Bridges Inspired by Ron Blaauw Bridges seafood restaurant is located at the front of Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam, the location and the building are special. Bridges restaurant is all about fish! The best 'fins' possible, caught at the best moment. Always in season, never out of it. We offer a large selection of mainly Dutch seafood, whether it is in the restaurant, the Bar or the Cocktail Bar. Local, organic vegetables complement the seafood; a perfect match of the sea meeting the land, with a French twist. The Wine Room is stocked with 'great whites'; fish just needs good 'vins'.

Very decent quality food and good, informal service for a quick lunch before a meeting. Steak tartare to start was excellent; cod with risotto less so but adequate. I would return.

Our meal at Bridges was adventurous but not very good. The wine pairings were also not very good. The main course was wild hare in blood sauce. The Dutch couple next to us were also disappointed. I guess I should have done my homework. I was hoping for a nice traditional Christmas meal (comfort food), but instead had an experiment... More

We recently ate here whist on a short trip to the city. It is a beautiful restaurant in a vibrant part of the city. The wait staff were excellent, very informative, funny but extremely professional, they explained what each course was with flare, fun and enthusiasm. The food was amazing, very tasty and great to look at, we all loved... More

Use the best quality products, stay simple, and do not overprice wines. A mediocre a restaurant that, as Oscar Wilde may comment, has "ideas above its station". Best avoided.

A very nice Saturday evening at Bridges: - an elegant 5 course seafood menu; as amuse bouche; - a replica of a coral reef - 3D printed - with a 3 D printed edible shell of a mussel - with a (real) mussel.... - expectations for the following meal rose..... - and were met! We were to start with Italian... More

We were staying at the hotel so took the opportunity to eat at Bridges during our stay. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed, which was perfect after a busy day of sightseeing. For the evening, both chef's menu and á la carte were available. We went with the á la carte. The food presentation was stunning, with an amazing level... More

The restaurant continues to offer fresh seafood in interesting presentations. If you like fresh oysters the Umami on the half shell and superb. The tasting menus are best if you are very hungry, I prefer to order ala carte. While not inexpensive i always find the service and food are well worth the cost. Since it is within the Sofitel... Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
