Fabulous ambience, nice food at modest prices!

Popped in for lunch during a cold wet weekend - and were impressed by the art deco stained glass windows and decor - even down to the loos! Service was good and we enjoyed nicely cooked, flavoursome food. The reading table is a museum-piece!

We went hoping to get afternoon tea. unfortunately you have to book in advance to get the full 'English' afternoon tea treatment with the stacked plates of goodies. We settled for a Club Sandwich and a Garnalenkroket. The ambience is worth a million dollers, with impeccable service. The food was good too and the prices less than one might have... More

This restaurant has one of the most beautiful interiors (Art Nouveau/Gothic) of any I have visited and worth a visit for this reason alone. That said the food is good if a little unoriginal, service ok, drinks menu very good. As we were staying in the hotel we also had breakfast here which was very good. It is definitely a... More

Don't go here for breakfast unless you are happy to pay 20 euros for all you can eat breakfast buffet. The food is terrible and overpriced. Find somewhere else is all I can say!!

I arrived at the time of my reservation and was seated promptly. "My" table had been taken and I was given another. This table seemed to be set for a full meal with two sets of cutlery as well as dinner and side plate. What a stunning spread! There was following sandwiches - smoked salmon and cream cheese; smoked turkey... More

Tea at the Cafe Americain is a treat. A beautiful Art deco saloon, old fashioned waiters, starched linen, and a wonderful calm ambiance, perfect after a busy day. A good selection of interesting teas, and a room perfect for people watching. It was like stepping back in time. Recommended.

In the past, we often went here for the Sunday Jazz Brunch, Always very good. However they do not serve this every Sunday anymore and on 15th March they served the Sunday roast as a buffet. We were a bit dissapointed as the meat got cold, not a very big selection of vegs and only one selection of dessert:rhubarber.. We... More

Beautiful Art Deco restaurant - worth seeing. Excellent food - onion soup, poulet noir, risotto ... Very poor service. Not rude, they just forget about you, and it is impossible find the wait staff to find out why your food is taken over an hour to come out from the kitchen. When you food comes the waiter freely blames everyone... More

Central location, warm and friendly atmosphere and perfect service. It was a real pleasure sitting there and enjoying our coffee and sweets after a long stroll in the city.

Visited twice, once for desert and coffee and again for brunch. Both times didn't disappoint. The interior is really interesting, such a pleasant room to be sat in. The value was good and the staff offered a good service.
