Came to see the Art Deco

The dining room is gorgeous! Worth a stop by. After taking in the dining room, we headed over to the bar for a drink. Wait staff was friendly and the people watching was great.

You certainly can't eat the scenery, but this lovely time warp sets a mood of elegance and nostalgia. My fears of a large hotel dining hall banquet mediocrity were fully met with their breakfast buffet. Most items are left on the steam table too long. Rubbery scrambled eggs and often under cooked bacon would be unacceptable in an Army mess... More

Reserved table for 7 pm - We were left waiting for more than 30 min in the entrance. Asking for a place where we could have a drink, we were finally offers a drink in the bar - still waiting for our table. The food was ok - but not more than ok. Never again

This is one of our "hang-outs", in Dutch, stam cafe. These days we can only afford Croque Madame €11 or Dutch Croquettes €10 for lunch on a Saturday. Coffee/tea/soft drinks are about €4, or close to double what you pay elsewhere. But it is all worth it for the pleasure of sitting in this gorgeous Art Deco room, and sometimes... More

Sat outside in the evening on the terrace watching the fountain and all the activity going on around. Shared prawns on a bed of ice then had a lovely salmon dish, my husband had chicken with tarragon. delicious. Would have stayed for dessert but it started to get cold. Nice for a coffee in the daytime too.

The beautiful Teutonic Great room is beautiful. It's filled with chandeliers, stained glass windows, and a view of the fountains on the square. The waiters are easy-going and friendly despite the elegance of the restaurant. This is not a place for a quick bite to eat. The food, while well-presented, was good, the vegetables were crispy and not overcooked, and... More

Four of us went for an evening meal and it was great. Live piano and guitar music in the background for one hour. Staff was helpful and pleasant. We were not hurried. We thoroughly relaxed for 3 hours. Next day we came for breakfast and again it was faultless. British hotel staff can learn here a lesson or two. Cafe... More

The food is good and the service is very good and accommodating. We love the ambience of this room! The French Onion soup is delicious and I asked for a small mixed green side salad, not on the menu, but they did it and it was delicious...with roasted tomatoes. We have been very impressed with the quality of the fresh... More

Popped in for lunch during a cold wet weekend - and were impressed by the art deco stained glass windows and decor - even down to the loos! Service was good and we enjoyed nicely cooked, flavoursome food. The reading table is a museum-piece!
