Wine and dine among the local Amsterdam people, artists and actors. The ambiance in the dazzling Cafe Americain is dynamic and most of all cozy. It has been called Amsterdam's living room by many and that is exactly how it feels. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, just a coffee or a pleasant drink. At the Cafe Americain or on the amazing terrace during the summer time, you will always feel comfortable

Beautiful!

The bartenders were funny and great to talk to, the room was tiny and way overpriced! New carpets needed in room. The view we had was great, but very noisy at night. The restaurant was very cool, old-world 5 star. The restaurant was 20x bigger than hotel lobby. Eat and drink at this hotel, but... read more

Together with my partner and my oldest daughter and her partner we enjoyed a marvelous brunch at this classic and stylish place. The buffet, the service - welcome with a free prosecco - and the music (jazzy, easy listening by an engaged band) made it a wonderful experience. The four of us unanimous agreed on that! This is opportunity is... More

The place is one of the nicest looking spots in Amsterdam. Faded looks, Jugendstil, class from another age. Do have coffee here. Do not eat here, because food is from another era too. This culminates in an uitsmijter with 400 grams of cold cheese and old bread.

The food and atmosphere is very ambient. The restaurant offers a great view of passerby and fountain in front of restaurant is great for pictures. A must see if you enjoy a little luxury.

Amsterdam is a very friendly town to visitors, and English is prominently spoken. But every once in a while, its nice to have some very American surroundings when you're overseas for a while. Great location, relaxed atmosphere, and a slice of home.

From the beautiful decor to exquisite tabletop the restaurant was very warm and inviting. From excellent service to some of the best food I have ever ate. Service was good but the waiter was a little stuffy and not as pleasant as I would have liked. We dined there twice in 6 days need I say more. It was a... More

We had a Christmas dinner at the restaurant. For start- the food was terrible. Definitely not worth the price. The service was nice but SO slow! We waited for almost an hour between the first and the main course. However we did enjoy our dinner mostly because of the atmosphere ( and the non stop wine)... Beautifully decorated. The band... Ossenworst, typical Dutch raw beef, is the best dish to order. Try it with some canapés, such as a little portion of dutch old cheese and pickled onions. French mustard is a plus!

Every visitor to Amsterdam must dine here. it is an unforgetable experience. Tasty dishes in an Art Deco space of great charm. Congratulations to the hotel for maintaining this historic landmark so well.
