Great set menu and good value

I went here with a friend. We went on a recommendation. We opted for the three course set menu and we had a bottle of house red. The starter was asparagus and langoustine, the main was venison and dessert was a sabayon. Every course was delicious. I highly recommend a visit. The house wine was also... read more

Though promising myself not to go there again after having dinner there last autumn I did ask for a table again tonight while passing by looking for a place to eat. We were only welcome if we would take 3 courses. We did not accept and went to a restaurant close by. I must say from my previous experience that... More

My girlfriend & I stumbled on this busy buzzing restaurant on a Saturday night. We hadn't booked but they did have a table free if we agreed to have "full dinner" we agreed as we were very hungry. We ordered two cola lights to drink as we don't drink or like alcohol. The waitress spoke to the manager who came... More

We just had dinner over Easter at Bordewijk. We liked what we saw of the simple interior throught the big old style street window and the slightly arty interior. The menu uses unusual foods : pigeon, liver, lamb brain, ... but other more usual ingredients too. The starter and mains were excellent and among the best we had during our... More

Am regular customer, often selecting this place for business and privately. Food is always good. Good selection of wines. Nice menu that is being updated but favorites remain. Nice atmosphere. The only note, think it could use an upgrade on the interior, the nonchalant style could turn some clients away, especially when business dining is involved. Another hopefully temporary issue... I really liked the personal touch of the chef coming to the table to explain the daily menu himself. It's clear that he's passionate about his restaurant and the food that he creates. I had the 3 course daily menu with cheese, but others in my party ordered a la carte (and, of course, I tried everything!). The tuna carpaccio,... More

Empty table outside on a saturday was available but when i asked to use it for 3 was told only if we had 3 courses! When i asked why we could not just have main courses was told by the rude waitress she was too busy to discuss! So beware as this restaurant wants your money and customer service comes... More

The 4 of us really enjoyed this restaurant. The rilletes, the sardines, the boar--all were excellent.

Long time since I have visited my favorite restaurant. Glad to see it is still doing very well. Wonderful dinner. Great Savigny les Beaunes with monk fish. (yes, you COULD make a more logical choice, but not a nicer one) I was sorry I did not try the venison that was part of the menu. Beautiful cheese afterwards. Perfect dinner... More

Staying in Jordaan

Neighborhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
