Great food, wonderful service

The manager welcomed us just like an old friend, and hosted a great dinner with excellent food (tried the surprise menu!). Service was professional and very friendly. Banks Mansion recommended it and it was a great choice.

No nonsense but very good. Excellent wine list. Great choice of fish and meat. We went back another night to try some other things on the menu and they welcomed us back as old friends but still with style.

The concierge at the Banks Mansion recommended this restaurant to us , as we were looking to have some fish . We live in New England and eat fish several times a week. We were not disappointed , there were quit a few Dutch people in the restaurant so it was a good local place. The service was attentive ,... More

The concierge of the waldorf Astoria recommended this restaurant our first night in Amsterdam. It was late and this place is very close to the Waldorf. The waiters were exceptionally friendly, didn't mind us coming in right before closing, and the food was great. If you happen to be in the neighborhood, I highly recommend stopping in for dinner.

Everything about this restaurant made the four of us feel we were truly experiencing Dutch cuisine. On a Saturday night the restaurant was filled (with mostly Dutch-speaking patrons) and we were happy we had a reservation. The menu is wide ranging and my recommendation is to order at least one item from the small 'specials' menu. What is featured is... More

The restaurant had a nice ambiance and friendly staff. They were a bit understaffed that evening, and we're kind enough to say so before seating us (explained that service would be slower than normal). The food, however, was average. Between the three of us, we had filet mignon (mediocre), venison (also mediocre), and sole (quite good). The beef and venison... More

we loved that this restaurant was willing to make a Dutch specialty for us that was not on the menu - wow - wasn't that thoughtful! They also had the best bbq ribs we have ever tasted.

I reserved a table on line and the warm welcome we received on arrival set the tone for what was an excellent meal! The decor of the restaurant in warm and inviting with generously proportioned tables so as a couple you don't feel squeezed in to a corner. The young waitress was exceptionally polite and spoke perfect English. We were... More

Recommended by Concierge at Movenpic. Made reservations at 7:30. Got there 10 minutes early. Seated immediately. Noticed no tourists, only Dutch patrons. Good sign. Wait staff spoke excellent English. Well rounded menu with a variety of fish and meat selections. I chose the chefs mystery dinner and have no bad things to say. 32 euros for 3 course meal. The...
