Had dinner here with my wife - here are my observations: - Service was ok, but commercial and not cordial - Food was really nothing special, pretty bad actually - Ambiance is fine with lots of tourist and a good buzz, but not for romantic dinner Summary: Classical tourist trap.

Took a late table at this restaurant after a recommendation from our hotel receptionist and as the title says we were not disappointed. Beautifully decorated restaurant in one of the nicest parts of Amsterdam. Were seated immediately by friendly efficient staff. Can highly recommend the Mussels and their signature Ribs, great food good wine !!!

Sluizer was recommended by our hotel, Banks Mansion and we had a wonderful evening. The decor was modern, comfortable and there was a nice vibe. The food was excellent and based on the recommendations of the owner. I had turbot and it was a large fish, perfectly pan seared and delicious. My husband had a trio of fish, also perfectly cooked,... More

We came here upon recommendation from hotel staff since we asked for an authentic Dutch restaurant. The portions were just right and the service was great; however our entrees didn't wow us.

We visited on a Tuesday night. The staff were very efficient and professional and able to answer all our questions. The food was beautifully arranged on the plate and the portions were not small. We were very hungry after walking all day so we had starter, main and dessert each and all the dishes were an experience. My partner had... More

We dined here on Saturday night, celebrating our 15th anniversary, and we have no words to express our pleasant experience. As soon as we sat down we were treated to two glasses of Champagne, a nice touch from the house. The food was delicious, well presented and portions of the right size. Then just after ordering they brought a basket... More

I've eaten at Sluizer four or five times over the last twenty years and last Saturday night's meal was just as wonderful as ever. Classy service and a range of fish, meat and vegetarian dishes very well executed and accompanied by good wines. The ambiance in the restaurant is always the same - no music just a buzz of conversations... More

I’ve seen this place while walking past one evening and I thought it looked nice and not at all touristy. So, the following day I decided to try it out. At the entrance I was greeted by a member of staff, who also took my coat, as it was raining outside. The menu is short, but well put together with... More

Two of us had dinner here on a midweek night. We were initially given a complimentary basket of fresh bread including nice dark brown rustic bread accompanied by a tapenade. To start we ordered gravad laks €11 which was good and home-made chicken liver pate €8 - two generously sized portions of pate and the taste was excellent. To follow... More
