I went to this restaurant when my hotel make reservations for me. It was nearby on the Herengracht Canal. Don't get me wrong: it's a very decent place. The food and drink and service were all very decent. I thought it was a bit overpriced for what they were offering.

Walking back to hotel on Saturday evening we passed this restaurant and decided to try to get in on Sunday evening. We didn't have reservation but getting there before 6 pm we managed to get table for 2. Lovely atmosphere and excellent service. Best meal we had in Amsterdam. I had home-smoked sea bass with Greek salad and my friend... More

I decided to splurge on my first night in Amsterdam and I picked the right place. The staff were professional and friendly. They were knowledgable about the menu and happy to recommend based on your tastes. I had the French Onion Soup for starter and it was delicious. I love onion and there was plenty in it! The main was... More

I've been to this restaurant 3 or 4 times over the years and always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. They are known for serving good and fresh fish. This time two of us went on the King's birthday eve celebration and had no problem getting a good table by the windows, we did arrive relatively early. My friend had the... More

This is a bright and cheerful and very reasonable dinning option. It was so good the first night we went back again the next night. You won't be disappointed.

We visited here on our weekend trip to Amsterdam and had the chef's surprise menu. I had meat and my wife had fish. My wife was a bit apprehensive about not knowing what she would have but we both had delicious food. The waitress was very pleasant and efficient and the service was excellent. It was good value for money... More

My husband and I spent the whole day walking Amsterdam. As dinner time approached we were retracing our steps back to Notting Hill Hotel searching for a place to eat dinner. We happened upon the Sluizer Restaurant and saw Trip Advisor recommendation and were not disappointed. Informal (we liked no white table cloths) yet having excellence as a value we... More

This was one of the best meals we had in Amsterdam. It is primarily a fish restaurant though there are meat dishes available. To start with we had a herring and apple salad and a gravadlux. To follow: cod 'en papilotte' and smoked bream, accompanied by an excellent viognier. All excellent. The waiters were knowledgeable about the menu and service... More

This place had the potential to be a 5/5 but the service ruined the experience for sure. Longest wait between courses and felt VERY ignored by the staff in clearing our table during said courses. The ribs were great and the food in general was of a good standard but the service brings this place down.
