Finally, Indonesian Food..

My uncle and aunt brought me here when I visited Amsterdam for Easter break. Came here only once and only tried their Gado-gado (kind of Indonesian salad, steam veggies with peanut sauce and prawn cracker). For me, who is an Indonesian student living in the North West of England, it is extremely... read more

My first experience with Indonesian. The food in itself is probably not my favourite, I'm not sure i'm a big fan of the flavours, but my meal was war, had a nice smell and was cooked before my eyes so I can't say there was any faults in it. The place is small but tidy and the service is fast... More

We went later on a Friday night and the place was empty. The service was a bit on the slow side since they were wrapping up for the evening. We got a tasty gado-gado entree which had a nicely flavored peanut sauce and crunchy vegetables,

We were walking in this area and noticed this restaurant. It looked a bit like a small bistrot but it was raining and we were hungry so we came in. We are not very familiar with the indonesian food but it was very good and tasty. The lady serving us was nice and helpful and the price was very friendly...... More

I'm a solo backpacker from Indonesia, and when I was in Amsterdam, I missed home a bit much. Thank God I found Sie Joe! In their tiny space, they have the most authentic Indonesian food I've tried abroad. The gado gado was awesome!

It is well-known among Indonesian who lives abroad that you can find lots of Indonesian restaurants in Amsterdam and Sie Joe is one of them. We found this small restaurant when we're wandering around and as soon as we see the sign, we rushed in! the restaurant offers authentic Indonesian food with some adjustment but they are still tasty and... The restaurant was small & feels a bit cramped if many guests but it is not a problem. Outdoor tables also available. Authentic taste of Indonesian food. I found it meet my expectation when ordered nasi goreng ayam (chicken fried rice) while my friend ordered soto ayam (chicken clear soup). Fair price & friendly owner/staff.

We stumbled on this tiny restaurant while wandering around the Dam Square looking for a comfort-food lunch. There are three tables at a little bar facing the street where you can sit and watch life go by. A small bar at the rear of the restaurant has another two or three seats overlooking the kitchen area. There are another two... More
