Description: On Hotel Okura Amsterdam's ground floor, you will find the Okura's Teppanyaki Restaurant Sazanka. Teppanyaki literally means 'to grill on a hot plate', which is traditionally the oldest way of preparing food in Japan. This kind of dining is very popular in its native country, in part because the chef prepares the most delicious dishes right before the guests' eyes. Various fishes and meats, including the very exclusive Wagyu beef, are prepared a la minute with Eastern precision. The Teppanyaki Restaurant Sazanka's interior features a contemporary Japanese style, the design of which is based on the elements of stone, wood, water and fire. The eleven teppanyaki hot plates will seat seven to ten guests each and are perfect for both business and festive occasions. It is also possible to reserve a private room with two hot plates, offering plenty of space for a maximum of 18 guests.

This is an amazing experience. It is about high quality food (both meat and fish) and extraordinary visual experience. The restaurant is high price, 100 euro pp, but it fully deserves that. We share our table with two couples which made our dinner even more interesting.

they served the best Angus beef which literally melt in your mouth without you putting in much effort to chew. All the dishes that we have ordered that evening are tastefully and artfully done. thumbs up to the chef who served us at the table, cant remember his name, but he is rather skinny and tall Japanese guy

Wow... Just WOW! This place blew my mind. Our server was out of this world good at his job. He paid attention to every little detail, and had the most impeccable timing I've ever witnessed. He was in complete control the entire meal, very impressive. The hostess was very attentive as well, and very friendly. All in all the service... More

First of all, you must understand the settings of Sazanka: in Amsterdam, there are extremely few good restaurants. Having lived here for a year and eating out at many dozens of places, I really feel that restaurants in Amsterdam are very low quality compared to other tourist capitals around the world. That said, Sazanka is a gem in Amsterdam: the... More

The restaurant is situated inside the Okura Hotel and it features a beautiful Japanese ambiance, very romantic. Sazanka is traditional and modern at the same time. The ingredients used are fresh and prime quality and the service very attentive. Everything is cut and cooked right under your eyes, by a young, yet talented chef with a wealth of imagination. We... One of our Executives gave his farewell dinner there, and we loved him for choosing this place . This is obviously one of the best Teppanyaki restaurants in Amsterdam, and it comes at a price. But the price tag is entirely justified. The quality of the food, the presentation (the dishes nare obviously hand made and unique pieces of japanese... More

We went for the tasting meny with the appropriate wine selection, and were not disappointed. Teppanyaki is always fun and the chefs here had the basic food- and artistic skills to make it an enjoyable experience. The staff was very welcoming in a way that was perceived to be driven by real interest in the experience of their customers. Especially... More

This was for us the second time in this restaurant. The food what they give you is really first class. We took extra the Wagyu meat and was really super. A 350 meal for two is not cheap but it is really special. We will come again.

This really was more of an experience than it was a meal. The service was excellent without being over-bearing. We had the 6 course classic menu with a bottle of wine for a total of 255 euros before tip. Everything we ate was very good and although we did like some course better than others. The fish course was to... More
