Having recently eaten tapas in Gran Canaria and London I felt that Pata Negra struggled a bit by comparison. But they managed our group of fifteen pretty well. And the recent reviews are too harsh. This is one of the few places where you can eat till late, that's why is always crowded around midnight. This is one of the 2 locations they have in Amsterdam (the other one on Reinwardtstraat, in the East is much better). The tapas are tasty, the atmosphere is nice, but be aware about waiting staff. The service is not... More

This has been a favourite of ours for many years but our latest visit was a shambles. We were given burned food and when we called the waiter over we were told they had to do this in order to get the inside of the empanada hot enough. The rest of our dishes were mediocre, the service was appalling. Such... More

Visited this place yesterday with my boyfriend (partly spanish) and we were both disappointed, and actually pretty chocked that this restaurant has a decent rating on TA and Google. Yes, the atmosphere is nice, both the interior and exterior is lovely, but that image fooled at least us to believe that this place had remotely Spanish, or well, remotely decent... More

We visited Pata Negra for a drink on Saturday night. Unfortunately didn't have a reservation and it was too crowded. We tried the next day and we found a sitting spot. We ordered Margarita, Mojito and Sangria. The Sangria was excellent. The menu is in Spanish but there can help you make a choice. We visited it the next day... More

We found this place based on decent reviews so we expected more. We ordered a few classic tapas, what we got instead were some low quality items that appeared to be fried frozen foods that were cooked in a fryer. The Empandas, patadas bravas, and charizo, and a salad. The two glasses of sangria tasted like cheap watered down red... More

We had a tapas late dinner and some wine. Great environment, the food was also very good and the staff was nice! A cool place for an animated late dinner.

The tapas were OK - nothing outstanding - and the place was quite noisy. It seemed there were a lot of locals present, so I can only conclude that Amsterdamers don't see a lot of really good tapas. It is a bit of a fun place, walls and ceilings decorated with graffiti in English, Dutch, Hebrew and more. Have a... More

The place is quite cosy with a good decoration, so the expectations were high upon having the menu in our hands. However, there is a huge set of tapas in which it is hard to know what to get. A big amount of the staff is quite unexperienced, since they couldn't even indicate what was specially good that day. So... More

Eventhough the atmosphere is perfect, the poor quality of the tapas (way too basic, dull taste) made me sign up at tripadvisor too tell people my opinion about this place. I would not recommend eating here. There are tons of better places to eat in Amsterdam.
