Went there with friends who'd been there before but had an hour wait to get a table - fortunately we weren't in a hurry as it was worth the wait! The service was good and the food was really tasty. Can't say I'm a fan of Indonesian good but this restaurant had me looking for more! Prices were average but... More

Good - Great value, good prices - Very popular and menu is extensive Bad - no air conditioning so it can be really hot in the hot summer nights, especially eating some of their more spicy foods - service is slow since it's so crowded - Everything starts to taste the same after the first few bites We would not... Everything is prepared in bulk.. Nothing is good. The food has been rewarmed so many times it is just mush or so dried out they cover it in Sam's Club caned sauce to make chew able.

I was looking forward to go to an indonesian restaurant but first of all, it looks like a cantine, no charm, no touch. I would say it is the worst asian ever in my life :-( You can find much better in Amsterdam. just ask your hotel. This makes me think that some travel guides get money to recomment some... More

Satay pork and chicken grossly overcooked and some sand inedible. Noodles were not fresh and soggy and stogy. Total lack of edible vegetables and a very dissapointed meal. total waste of money and put us right off Indonesian.

We arrived in Amsterdam on Gay pride weekend and asked our concierge for a recommendation for indonesian restaurant. He recommended Kantjil as being authentic and only 20 minutes away. He made a reservation for us for 6:30pm.. Well getting two adults and two juniors through the throngs of party goers proved very slow and we arrived at 6:55pm. Our table... More

Was visiting Kantjil & de Tijger with some friends from abroad who never had Indonesian food. My experience with Kantjil was always value for money and good food. We had two rice tables from the menu as it was my idea that they taste a little bit of everything. The food was really good, the service excellent! I would recommend... More

Had a wonderful meal here, the sate's with peanut sauce were superb, as was the stewed pork in the nutmeg sauce. Frankly we didn't know what was in most of the dishes we were eating, but we felt well guided and enjoyed every last bit of it. Bit noisy, but it was obvious that others were enjoying their meals as... More

Six weary travelers were looking for a late simple dinner. This excellent restaurant accommodated us well. We had a table and a meal in less than an hour. The server knew we had requested quick service so he did just that. Good recommendations too.

A stylish bistro which pays attention to detail. The menu offers a good variety of Indonesian dishes (albeit peppered down to Dutch taste, and somewhat sweet, but many people enjoy that). They offer a rijstaffel (array of dishes) for those who want to do a tasting. They have also started an Indonesian high tea with sweet and savoury snacks, which... More
