Excellent!

I have read the previous reviews and I can agree with them. When you walk in you realize right away that this is no a regular ethnic restaurant. My boyfriend and I went here for dinner on Valentines night as we were visiting Amsterdam. I had Indonesian food before (at Sama Sebo in Amsterdam), but it was new for him. I had made the reservation in advance, and was glad I did as when we arrived there was a queue at the reception desk. I gave the hostess... More

Went to this place last weekend to sample the famed Indonesian fare of Amsterdam. It did not disappoint at all. Portions are sizeable and they easily replace beef/pork options with chicken. Had the Nasi Goreng Kantjil which was amazing. A complete meal with rice, meat on skewers, gravy meat and salad. Not to forget the prawn crackers. To top it... More

Had time to kill in Amsterdam and fancied trying Indonesian. This was a great idea. Was solo so got table quickly with a really great waitress who was really friendly and kept the bintang coming. Food was outstanding, really good basic Indonesian cooking, quickly served without being overly pushy and a really buzzing happy atmosphere. I'd book if you can... More

My husband and I ate here with a group of friends on Valentine's Day. Luckily we had reservations, because the restaurant was packed! Reservations were easy to make and the hostess was especially polite and welcoming. Our waitress, on the other hand, seemed annoyed with us from the beginning. It took 45 minutes for someone to take our drink order... More

Arrive early! Fills up quickly. Very popular restaurant with the locals. Excellent Indonesian fare. Reasonaly priced menu. English menu on request. Has a take out area in the back of the restaurant, if the wait is too long to enjoy at your hotel.

Wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again for a couple of reasons. First off, hostess was great and found us a good table. But our server must have been having a bad day as she was surly and bored with our questions about the menu. And about the menu, even though it was in English, it was... More

If you've never had Rijsttafel ( rice table ) in the Netherlands, you don't know what you're missing. A Dutch tradition dating back to colonial times in what is now Indonesia, you get a massive table fill of small dishes of immense variety. We've tried quite a few of these restaurants. This is by far the best. My father-in-law throws... More

I thought that making us wait 30 minutes for a drink was excessive, until they made us wait 45 minutes in between starters and main. For distinctly average food it was just a bit too long.....

Found this place completely by accident and its one of the best restaurants I have been to. It was out first night in Amsterdam (Thursday) and arrived at 10pm, kitchens in most restaurants had closed but a large group had just arrived before us so the lovely lady on reception found us a table. The food was amazing and at... More
