Rijstafel

Very good rijstafel with well prepared and tastey dishes. We were recommended to go here to try this traditional dish. Great.

Went with a local and another visitor. Get as many people together as you can for an Indonesian Rijstafel. Composed of many small dishes that everyone gets to share, the more people you have the more dishes you can try. The flavors include light curry (one on our group who "does not like curry" really liked this), spice (a red... More

We had their Rijsttafel or Rice Table. It was excellent, bountiful, diverse and relatively inexpensive. Their use of spices was gentle and not threatening to my pallet. Service was efficient, prompt but rather unpolished. Atmosphere was pleasant but noisy. For two or three persons the noise level was tolerable. For more than four persons, recommend investigating alternative Rijsttafel restaurants.

I am indonesian, visited this restaurant with my wife, daughter and son in law American.Ordered the menu " mangkok" a bowl consist of nasi goreng, rendang and gado2. Taste was so awful. Read a lot about this Indonesion feast in Amsterdam and was really looking forward to the experience. The restaurant was atmospheric and busy with friendly staff. Received good explanation of menu dishes(no English translation on menus except headline description) Rijstafel described as a feast of multiple small dishes that I imagined similar to Wontons in Chinese cuisine. The multiple dishes... More

We got the takeaway option (located at the back of the restaurant on Spuistraat). You can combine a variety of rice/noodles + vegetables + meat options. The food was nice and filling, but not as flavourful as I had expected. It seemed a bit bland, as if it was missing spices and sauces. Hopefully the main restaurant provides a higher... More

Great flavor and nice change if you're done with meat, fish and potatoes. Narsi goreng and bokchoi were excellent. Also pretty reasonable price and good service.

We had a delicious meal here, and it was a great introduction to the famous Indonesian Rijstafel. We got the Batavia for three people, and it was so much fun to mix up the different dishes. Loved it!

Both my parents are Indonesians so I know what is authentic and what isn't. When I saw them lay out the plates, I knew straightaway that the food wasn't even fresh. The food wasn't well cooked either. Indonesian food is generally quite cheap regardless of where in the world you are and in comparison, this restaurant was overpriced.

We found this restaurant by chance while browsing the book market. The menu is easy to pick from despite our inexperience with Indonesian food. I had the nasi goreng, bado bado, and rendang beef combo and it was a great value and presentation for its price.
