Great seafood

Very nice fish restaurant in a very touristy area of Amsterdam. We had lobster bisque and them shared sole. I highly recommend both as they were very delicious. Service was just OK but not spectacular. They have a good wine list to accompany fish dishes. Enjoy

Me and my cousin went there to eat something after we arrive to Amsterdam, we had a feeling for seafood and that's how we got to this restaurant. It was noon so the restaurant was almost empty. The service was so great and welcoming and after a consult with the waiter we order the food. Everything was just amaZing specially... More

One of the more traditional restaurants in town. Best known for their amazing dover sole, so this is what we had. It was pricey but well worth it. The other food was great too. I would also like to mention that the host, Anna, is an example to all. Friendly, informative and warm she made our dinner unforgettable!

The area is touristy. But the restaurant is world class. I pass by Amsterdam periodically (at least twice a year ) .. and I have never tried the oysters (although that is the name). I have tried several of their fish dishes all are 5 stars .. as if I could give more stars to the Dover Sole (meuniere) I... More

This is among our favorite restaurants in Amsterdam. Always pleasant and accommodating. Highly recommend the Plate de Mer. Probably the freshest seafood around!

The service was excellent, the beer fabulous so were the oysters and the side dishes... We took the seafood platter which was a total let down! The shells were tasteless and unflavored, the shrimps and lobster under-cooked. Shame...

This restaurant is a good choice if you are looking for seafood. We ate a very beautiful and good plateux Royale and a delicious bouillabaisse. That was the best. It is a small place and the people are nice and efficient. We set in a table near the kitchen and that was interesting because we could see the guys from... More

The Oesterbar is a lovely place with a long history. Fish is great, wines are very nice. The service is tipically Amsterdam. It's an acquired taste, but I love it.

As my title says, this restaurant is in a hugely touristy area with lots of less than stellar dining surrounding it. I travel to Amsterdam for business frequently and have dined here at least three of four times. If you are in this area - be sure to have dinner here. Its a small place with outstanding service and very... More
