We stumbled across this restaurant on our stroll. We had a mixed salad which had plenty of variety - beetroot and squash, lentils, cous cous pesto and greens. This was followed by a lovely mocha tart. Friendly staff and a quirky inside decor gave a great atmosphere.

The food is really good if you're looking for vegan/vegetarian food. I had the vegan platter of the day with pumpkin rice, beans & avocado, coconut tofu, etc. My friend had the enchiladas and my other friend had a blue cheese lasagna. Portions are big - I couldn't finish it all. The atmosphere is sweet and the two elderly owners... More

'The Bowler Hat', on Prinsengracht in the Jordaan, is a great place for vegetarians and vegans in the centre of Amsterdam or anyone who fancies wholesome, organic food. Beautifully situated right on the canal it is cosy in Autumn and Winter and has a small amount of outdoor seating in warmer weather. The food comes in good portion sizes and... More

Very dirty restaurant. You can tell by looking at the floors and the stacks of dishes. The staff hacked and coughed into their hands whilst serving food and wine to customers. Staff also was eating while cooking and blowing their noses whilst preparing the food. My father and I were treated very rudely. I walked into this place hoping to... More

This is not a "posh" place, but is a nice characterful cafe. The food was excellent and reasonably priced with a wide and interesting selection of vegetarian and vegan food.

On a recent holiday with my Mum and boyfriend, we decided to hunt down a veggie restaurant for our last-night dinner. I'm the only vegetarian, but the other two enjoy good food, and I'm so glad we found Bolhoed! The restaurant has a really laid-back, relaxed feel. Ok, the service wasn't fast, but the staff were super helpful and friendly.... More

With two vegetarians in our party of three this seemed the perfect place for dinner. The menu is made up of set meals all at reasonable prices but some of the options had already sold out at 8:00 pm ! The food was tasty but nothing amazing but it was the service which let's this place down. The staff are... More

I've read that Bolhoed has nice options for vegans, so we went there to try it out. Would I go back? Yes, but not in a hurry..... The food was organic and flavorful. I had the vegan lasagne and an apple / elderberry juice. My kids ate the vegetarian enchiladas and a greek salad - which was huge and delicious.... More
