We had a dinner reservation for a Friday at 7pm, and I asked the waitress for the specials menu, she brought the menus and we all ordered the daily special, they were out of it at 7pm already. Bad planning. I've eaten here at least a dozen times in the past because the options for good vegetarian restaurants in Amsterdam... More

This is a great place for veggie and vegan visitors to Amsterdam. I've bee here 3 or 4 times since discovering it in the last few months. I can recommend trying the soup of the day, very fresh, homemade and served with a big hunk of bread. Perfect for for combatting the wind and rain at the moment. I am... More

Unpretentious, informal, friendly, laid back, popular and reasonable value for Amsterdam - lovely food and great staff (engaging, memorable and cool) in a quirky little building. A welcome contrast to all the beer-swilling, conspicuous consumption and sameness of Amsterdam and the tourist-trap bars. pizza's, fast-food and rampant commercialisation that gets a bit much. Great to find.

We visited De Bolhoed after recomendation from our B&B hosts. Service was a bit lifeless, but we liked the relaxed feeling of the restaurant.Italian organic rred wine was really good, my partner had the days vegan plate, everything was tasty and freshly prepared, the smoked tofu was excelent (would never have thought to write this about tofu!!).I had the enchiladas,... The exterior of the restaurant looks like it is in disguise, beautiful plants growing around the door give an enchanting feel to this exciting, bijou vegan restaurant. Dont hesitate, just go in and enjoy a very filling satisfying meal.

When in Amsterdam I like to visit Bolhoed every now and then. The food is super tasty and the vegan meal of the day is always a good choice. However, I find it a bit on the pricier side, paying 17,50 Euro for the day meal. But it is delicious so I go there to enjoy the food. If it... More

We were searching for some reasonably priced vegan/vegetarian restaurant, and we found this one. It wasn't cheap, but also not ridiculously expensive. There are enough choises for vegetarians, and most meals are also vegan, or can be made vegan on request. It was the first time in my life that I actually really enjoyed cauliflower! They have a selection of... More

This is a small, quirky café/restaurant on the side of one of Amsterdam's canals. There are tables inside and out. On the menu you will find a variety of home made vegetarian dishes using fresh ingredients with hearty portion sizes. The cakes looked scrumptious but I was too full to sample them after I had tried the warm pitta bread... More
