Cute and quirky restaurant

Be sure to make a reservation, as the restaurant is small and quickly fills up. The deco is unique and quirky. Two of our 4 main dishes were really good and something different. The other two were good, but nothing exciting. Everything looked really freshly prepared. I was really excited to get... read more

Let me preface my review with two things: 1. I work in a fast-paced, high-pressure service sector environment that caters to tourists, and 2. I have eaten at vegan/vegetarian restaurants in dozens of cities across six continents, including cities notorious for poor service and harried wait staff such as Manhattan and Paris, and I have never encountered such insulting and... My brother, my boyfriend and I went there for lunch and ordered the soup of the day. It was a very tasty red lentil soup, which was served with bread and a glass of water. My boyfriend ordered bread with pikant cheese and according to him it was good, but not amazing. He did order the mixed fruits juice, which... More

Visited here about a year ago and it os without a doubt one of the best vegetarian restaurants I have ever eaten in and the staff were so friendly!

Turned up midweek with no reservation but sat outside no problem. Only ordered main courses but both were really delicious, with decent but not overwhelming portions. Friendly waitress. Perhaps not very easy to find. It doesn't seem to have an obvious sign outside!

I come here often and I'm never disappointed. The food is really delicious and the cakes are to die for! The '70's style is also unique. In the summer I love to sit outside for a cappuccino, unfortunately there are not a lot of seats outside.

This restaurant has been in Amsterdam for years. Very pleasant staff but the food has never been great. It’s almost like a historical hippie landmark more than a place for a great vegetarian meal. Juices, soups, salads, teas, you can’t go wrong. I’ve had cooked meals that were slightly burned or dry, nothing innovative or that had me saying," this is... More

This little cafe type restaurant is quaint and the staff was very friendly. But the food did not WOW us. We expected more from this place given so many great reviews. They have limited seating and close a bit early. It is a bit pricey and they do not take credit cards, so bring cash.

A real authentic home for vegan and vegetarian food. I had a great lasagna. My wife had the vegetarian menu special and it was amazing.

Tried this place last year and again this year, felt little choice so went for the Ragout/Curry Croissant..again! Great Coffee. The Croissant was dry and miserable, did not taste of anything, the salads with them were also in need of resuscitation, not sure why food was like this, just lacking in flavour and excitement, cakes in the fridge did not look good either, apart from... Staying in Jordaan

Neighborhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
