Quirky bakery with amazing fresh baked goods

We went to this place for breakfast. The interior is really fun and quirky - there was a little cat sleeping on a stool nearby and old prints on the wall. The menu is small, but offers a good selection of sweet and savoury baked goods and drinks. They also do lunch and dinner, apparently. We got a... read more

Staying in the centre we were looking for a nice traditional home made cafe no smoking. This was perfect, good coffee, homemade croissants & rye bread and even jam. Definately recommend.

I wanted to rate the food 4 stars, but the service was unfortunately too bad to ignore. They seem to have a bad system going on, and no will to please the customer.

We tried De Bakkerswinkel for their "small breakfast". The price included orange juice and choice of hot drink. The fresh croissant was superb and the slice of bread we had was very tasty. A selection of 3 home made preserves (strawberry, lemon curd, and pineapple & basil) was provided and they were delicious. Service was friendly and unrushed but efficient.... More

Loved the look and feel of this place. Well worth visiting along with a stroll in Wester park. Some sweet and savory options for under 10 euro for breakfast or lunch.

I've been to this place probably 5 times and I will not go anymore. The food was all the time "ok", the scones excellent but the service extremely slow even when the place is not too busy. Last time we get there with our friends, they charged us for 2 glass of tap water without saying anything. Just ridiculous!!!! Not... More

Great service and amazing food. Loved the atmosphere! Hands down the best scones in Amsterdam, specially the lemon poppy seed.

I loved their scones with clotted cream. De Bakkerswinkel has been around some many years but still offer great service and good food.

Best meal I had in Amsterdam! The atmosphere was great, converted loft felt very chic. The matcha latte was so good and the scones with the variety of jellies! So good. I'm hoping to make it back before I leave to buy some jelly to take home with me. Highly suggest.

If you have time to kill and are hungry for breakfast then make sure you pay a visit to De Bakkerswinkel. The bacon and eggs on sourdough bread are divine and the coffee is spot on. The service is unhurried, but who wants to rush at breakfast? An honourable mention goes to the hot chocolate - a visual treat as... More
