Fantastic surroundings. Excellent service with a huge amount of attention to detail. We had the four course tasting menu with wine (A glass of wine chosen by the restaurant to go with each course - included in the meal price). Could not fault anything. Would recommend this to any foodophile that visits Amsterdam.

The 5 Flies occupies the bottom floor of 5 old Amsterdam canal houses, and the decor inside is exactly what you'd want it to be: dark wooden beams, blue and white Dutch tiles, tiny hallways, intimate corner tables. The staff was so incredibly friendly, humorous, and great at recommending food and wine pairings. If you order coffee for dessert, they... More

We are regular visitors and the 5 Flies (d'Vijff Vlieghen) is one of our favorite places to eat in Amsterdam. As a couple, we get the tasting menu and split the wine pairing. Sitting in one of the historical rooms is a treat - this time we were in the Rembrandt room with the Rembrandt etchings. The service couldn't be... More

We took a chance without booking and were so pleased to get a table. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and were treated like Royalty. The staff were fantastic, the food was amazing and being in that historic building was an awesome experience. We were seated under original Rembrandt sketches - wow! All very romantic.

We booked early for this as part of our Christmas visit and secured one of the tables with the brass plates on the ground floor. It is a beautiful old building with many rooms all decorated in the old Dutch style. The have a selection of menus and we chose six courses with wine accompaniment. They also had an a... More

If you are looking for Dutch food, this is the place to be. They offer also degustation menues, so you can try several dishes. They have great selection of wines, but try the local white wine, which is fresh and a bit bubbly. Love it!

Impeccable service, very friendly Salmon as an entree and braised beef were the favourites tonight. Have a look at your seat, someone famous may have sat there as there are plaques with names!

This restuarant was recommended by a work colleague, it's on the out skirts of the city centre and easy to find not far from the flower market. The building is very old and is really a collection of rooms decorated in a traditional way. The menu we chose was five courses but you could choose upto 7, the maitre 'd... More
