Heard great things from friends and was told it was a place we had to eat it no matter what else we did in Amsterdam. Unfortunately, they were really, really wrong. Location is very cool, historical, different rooms, celebrity names on the seats, but none of this could override the length of time we were forced to be inside the... More

In search for Amsterdam spirit we booked this restaurant and find it absolutely remarkable. Fantastic interior in old Amsterdam style with historic decorations. Authentic menu with smoked sausage and many other original dishes. Wonderful place to experience spirit of the city.

We were looking forward to a Dutch fine dining experience. Our Hotel Estherea recommended and we were enthusiastic after a quick look at the online menu. We were prepared to pay 100 to 200 euro for a memorable meal for 2. However, on arrival at 9:15 pm we were promptly told that they closed in 20 minutes. We could see... More

We enjoyed this restaurant but thought there were a few better. The lamb main course was good but not great. The restaurant itself is very charming. Certianly a good one to go to but thought there were a few others that were a bit better.

We visited as part of a group , all got the impression that the guest experience was not the primary reason for haven the restaurant, but rather to get the meal served quickly. Drinks service was poor, aperitif glasses remained on the table the whole evening. food was ok but they could have done better! the restaurant itself is spectacular,... More

Please do not misunderstand. This is not a Chinese restaurant where they cook flies. We found casually this place, walking around in Amsterdam. From the very beginning we realized it was not a normal place, but a “special one”. But nothing to do with José Mourinho! Everything is great: atmosphere, hospitality, service, food. Prices are adequate to this top level... More

After an hour and a half, our main course was finally served. One was not what we ordered, and we ate it anyhow because we didn't want to wait for another hour. It was not that good either, and rather than wait for desert, we had them pack it to go, since they were not willing to adjust the price.... More

Whilst outside the rain kept bashing the small windows of the restaurant, we truly enjoyed an inspired meal in the enchanting atmosphere of this 17th Century multi-room canal house. As soon as we entered, we were under the charm of the warm and inviting interior of the Vijff Vlieghen, as we were welcomed by a smiling lady who lead us... More

We had a delicious dinner that included classic Dutch dishes but with some updated ideas. The menu is small, but well-crafted with a range that should please most tastes. They pride themselves of fresh, high-quality ingredients, with real talent in the kitchen. The starters often feature very good fish dishes. There is real attention to detail and choice items, even... More

Thank you for taking the time writing such a nice review, much appreciated.
