Description: One of Amsterdam's most remarkable restaurants, situated on the 23rd floor...
One of Amsterdam's most remarkable restaurants, situated on the 23rd floor of Hotel Okura Amsterdam, the Ciel Bleu Restaurant has been awarded two Michelin stars and, much like the adjacent Twenty Third Bar, offers a stunning panoramic view of Amsterdam's city centre. This breathtaking vista and the luxurious design, together with the personal hospitality, all combine to create a unique atmosphere. The Ciel Bleu Restaurant's ambitious kitchen staff serve a unique take on French cuisine, prepared with seasonal products and characterised by its innovation. The Sommelier's professionalism and close cooperation with Executive Chef and Manager Onno Kokmeijer results in a perfect harmony between wine and food. The Ciel Bleu Restaurant also offers three luxurious private areas: the Starlight Room, the Salon Panoramique, and the Chef's Table in the restaurant's kitchen.

Simply divine

A visit is worth it for the stunning views from the Okura Tower over lovely Amsterdam alone. But of course the food was outstanding, beautifully presented and served with barely restrained dramatic flair. We dined here in September for our anniversary. Certainly the view is breathtaking. Service at the beginning was over the top-concurrent napkins, etc. I don't know what happened that evening but we left after the 4th course of 7-which took 4 hours. One of the other diners in the restaurant actually fell asleep because of the long wait in between... More

Maybe we were awaiting a little bit too much, but since were from the restaurant business ourselves, and have eaten in a lot of different michelin star establishments around the globe, here are my thoughts. - to serve a cheese cracker as a amuse gueule and name it Oreo (the cracker part not even imprinted with the chefs or restaurant... It was the first Michelin star restaurant I've been to and I have to admit that it was a wonderful experience. The service, the food, the presentation of the meals was just fantastic. The set up menus were a mix of different tastes that went so well together and the explanation provided for each dish was a really nice addition.... More

This was a 2star michelin restaurant I went on our last day in amsterdam. Firstly the location is gorgeous (on top of hotel Okura) with a fantastic city view. We had a table facing the view. The hostesses were very welcoming and made us feel very comfortable from the get go. Our main course were Turbo and the Deer both... More

Located on the top floor of the Okura hotel, this is an excellent choice to celebrate a special occasion. Go for the surprise menu!

Excellent service and very pleasant amnd helpful waiters. The wines however were a disappointment - nothing special and even by restaurant standards seriously over-priced. At 15 Euro for circa 100ml in a glass I'd expect something more than what I can buy in a wine warehouse for less than that for a bottle. Food was very nicely prepared although a... More

This place was not just perfect, they went over and beyond with everything. The food was obviously outstanding. Every dish was unique and mouth watering. The service was 10/10 throughout. Our glasses were never empty and the staff were always pleased to give information about what we were eating and drinking. The setting is amazing and it feels very intimate.... More

This is a remarkable restaurant and it demonstrates what a couple of Michelin Stars often imply. The food critic and writer James Beard once wrote that you should never trust any restaurant that was above the ground floor or offered more than a few selections on the menu. Ceil Bleu violates these rules and does it with style. From arrival... More

Staying in De Pijp

Neighborhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
