The athmosphere, staff, cocktail, food are great! An unusal location in Amsterdam in the heart of WesterPark. Maybe not the best place for a quiet, romantic date but a good plan to take your friends out!

Went here with my boyfriend for a bit of anniversary celebration and casual food and drink in November. I'm pescetarian, and since this is a fish/seafood restaurant only, the choices were perfect. In addition to an extensive gin & tonic selection, the menu consists of three sections: small appetizers, mussels, and a lobster dish. We got about four or five... More

Loved the warm and buzzing atmosphere from the moment I stepped in to Mossel en Gin! It's worth the trip over to the Westerparkfabriek (short bike ride from Central Station). The menu gave a choice between varied starters and 5 or 6 different mussel preparations (Thai green curry, classic, mushroom, roquefort etc.) and then a selection of 10 different G&T... More

After reading the menu, which had a lot of gin and mussels, it hit me that i'm not a fan of neither. However, the other alternatives, were all of top-notch quality. Nice atmosphere, great service...

Great location with interesting Gin based cocktails. Food was really not all that good. Mussels had little flavour with a very anaemic liquor. I would advise to stop here for an early evening gin cocktail, but go somewhere else to eat.

We were visiting Westergastfabriek terrein in Amsterdam joining a lecture and presentation form Bram Vermeulen on the topic: "Dwars door Afrika", every sunday evening on television NPO1 at 20:15. While strolling back over the area, we consulted the area plan boards for places to drink and/or dinner. We found a place (listed as Proef) and ran into Mossel en Gin,... More

Friendly and welcoming mussel and gin restaurant. A choice of 10+ gins to accompany a huge bowl of mussels. Food came quickly and was delicious. 15 EUR for mussels, bread, chips and salad which is unbelievably good value for Amsterdam. Choice of 5+ sauces, the stilton was good but the thai was incredible. Not much else on the menu for... More

Only had a couple of tasty gin cocktails. Waitors are more than friendly. Next time we try the mussels, they looked worth trying them.
