Great sandwiches and Italian desserts.

Stopped in for lunch and ordered panini sandwiches - Caprese, Prosciutto and Mozzarella, Mediterraneo. Tried all three bread options and all were excellent. The Caprese on focaccia had a generous amount of mozzarella and tomatoes, arugula, and was drizzled with pesto and probably was the best of... read more

My wife and I ate here on our first night in Amsterdam as we were staying near the Jordaan district and fancied an Italian meal. The menu at Assaggio was extensive and more appealing than others in the area. Unfortunately our evening was let down by the 50-minute wait for our mains, which was simply unacceptable for two tagliatelle dishes,... More

I admit that we did not have a meal here but we were staying a few blocks away and stopped several times for gelato or pastries going back and forth from our apartment! The staff was very friendly, helped us with translating flavors when necessary and the gelato is the best of any we had in Amsterdam!

They have delicious cannoli. We bought some and leave the store. After 5 min later, we return the store to buy more and previous ones are already eaten.

Fantastic food, really interesting. Unusual menu. Staff were pretty good but could go up to the level of the food!

I recently had a nice lunch of salami piadine sandwich. Grilled and tasty. The price is also right here - quite affordable . Also a convenient location in the canal belt area between the Keizersgracht and Prinsengracht.

Walked into Assagio on the off chance and managed to get a table for 2, the forst course a mixture of antipasta was very nice....however this is where the good news ends, the 2nd course included scallops in a green sauce with diced carrots, the sauce was the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted, it was extremely pungent and... Whether it is for lunch or to take home for dinner, Assaggio is the place for the freshest, most delicious dishes, all home-made by the charming chef. Vitello tonnato, a 10, never tasted better anywhere. Avocado salad is prepared a la minute. Pumpkin pasta out of this world. Choice of bread for lunch.

I had an apartment in Prinsengracht, just around the corner and I regret I had discovered this place only during my last two days in Amsterdam. I learned that the best food to good comes from such Italian small diners, like "Delle Alpi" in Copenhagen for example, it's quick and furious as "ordinary" fast food but it tastes great as... More

We had a taste for "traditional Italian" so we found this on yelp. Very good service, good food, and lively atmosphere. I had the tagliatelle ragu of wild boar and it was good. Not great, but a strong good. The service made up for any other deficiencies. If any.
