Description: A good cafe is one such place where you wish you had discovered it earlier entry. That happens to a lot of people when they Cow Cafe, or the restaurant located in its basement Stuffed Cow for 'enter first time. Just steps away from the De La Mar Theatre, Paradiso and Melkweg, our cafe is the perfect place where people meet to eat or drink before the show. Since opening in 1993, The Cow become known in Amsterdam, not only by the combination of good food and a nice bar, but also by her attraction to musicians, artists and hedonists; We mention any names, but everyone has ever been here!

I had the beef steak, fries and salad, together with some Belgian beers. Very tasty, and all a bit above normal 'eetcafe' quality. Top. Cosy place and very nice staff, too.

A nice amsterdam atmosphere, kind waiters, original fresh food, fairly priced. Several theatres nearby.

This cafe was recommended by our hotel staff and it definitely lived up to expectations. Small and cosy with great food. We had the guinea foul and the cod: both fantastic. Staff were friendly and helpful - as with the rest of Amsterdam, they spoke great English. Will go back again next time we're in Amsterdam.

Our friend gave us the address of this place, which is close to many theaters. All tables were booked for later that evening but we were early and the waitress told us that if we could leave before 7.30 she could give us a table. So we were really lucky because this is a great place for inexpensive and nice... More
