The Kashmir started out as a DJ Cafe / Coffeeshop. In the Old West of Amsterdam there was a big need for a place to chill, have a beer or a smoke or two with friends while listening to some great music. The laid back tunes and atmosphere during the day make it the perfect location to lounge with a cup of tea or coffee, or sit on the outside terrace to watch the world go by. The Kashmir Lounge was one of the first DJ Cafe/Coffeeshops in the Netherlands and every night there is a different line up of DJs playing an eclectic mix of music for your pleasure. The Kashmir has been used as the film location for a number of motion pictures as well as a number of music videos and is well known by locals and international visitors alike. After all these years we are still proud that many people old and young consider it the place to be in the Amsterdam! Nowadays the Kashmir Coffeeshop is situated just across the street from the Kashmir Lounge Cafe. Feel welcome and enjoy! ( Minimum age is 18 years)

I was under the false impression that on Sunday's absolutely everything in Amsterdam is closed. I ventured a couple of stops towards the centre to find this little gem. Staff were knowledgeable and provided expert knowledge on their wares. The vibe in here is cosy, on a par at being at a friend's house that you never want to leave.

This place is the best coffeshop in town! More locals less tourists. Cheap, comfortable, clean and nice staff. Especially the guy in coffeshop (guess his name is Dennis) was very helpful and kind. Our spot in Amsterdam ;)

Excellent music, great atmosphere, quality weed, cosy couches, good prices and designated smoker's area inside...really couldn't ask for more! We've been in Amsterdam for a week, so we crammed as much as we could in the limited time, and this is the only place in Amsterdam we've been twice! A bit out of hand, but only a 10min easy bike... I visited here on the last day of my trip to Amsterdam, located outside of the city centre it has a much more relaxed vibe during the day. I was amazed at the prices here only 2 euros for hot drinks and 3-4 euros for a light snack. For this price you may think the food would be bad, but... More

Great environement, soft lights, oriental style for decoration, very confi (couchs, pillows), cool music (alive music and differents DJ's every week), good prices and the coffe shop is just opposite. So you can bring your weed at the coffe and go to the bar to enjoy the relaxing time with cool people. More local ppl than turist so is very... More

Lovely little gem of a coffee shop, outside seating was a fab place to watch the world go by over a coffee. Would return . A little out of the way but worth the trek!

We went in across the street where the herb was sold, receiving recommendations for our tastes and decided to stay there to smoke on the back patio because across the street where the alcohol is sold, it was too loud and crowded. We got high-class cappuchino and bud, plus a hash that was super strong. I think it is a... More
