A warm and inviting location for morning coffee!

I got my morning coffee here nearly every day for the month that I studied abroad in Amsterdam. I visited so frequently that I became acquainted with Rachid and his staff, who were always friendly, welcoming, and provided excellent service in general. While I mostly got coffee here, I grabbed a... read more

After reading the recommendations on trip advisor we decided to go there as this was being close to our hotel. Unfortunately we did not get served and the waitress overlooked our group of 5. After 35 minutes order was not taken and we left. What a pity.

Simple, fresh ingredients, reasonably priced too. I had the BLT which was lovely, hubby had chicken with mango salsa which was fab too. The coffee was hot and tasty.

We discovered this chain when visiting the Netherlands and were positively astounded. They offer a wide variety of Bagels or salads with individualization possibilities, and this either fait, organic or even vegan. The food is very good and a nice break from citytouring! The service is very helpful, accomodating and fast. The chain has a strong culture which is a... More

Our houseboat rental was around the corner, and our host recommended Bagels and Beans as a breakfast/coffee place. Well we liked it so much the first morning that we came back for breakfast every day we were in Amsterdam. Excellent coffee, and the large size is really HUGE. They obligingly put a shot of espresso in mine to make a... More

Stumbled upon this place. I hadn't had a bagel in a long time and was excited to spot a bagel joint. Not only did this place have awesome bagels, but they also had delicious cream cheese. The walnut and honey cream cheese is especially good. Definitely a great spot to check out if you are craving a bagel.

The bagels are the weak link in this place. The coffee was good, as were the fillings in the bagels.

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighborhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
