Best bread in the whole world

Amazing wholemeal bread. Worth the 15 minute cycle. The staff is friendly, knowledgable, and helpful.

Next to the bakery the terrific people at Hartog opened a sandwich shop for (of course) wholegrain sandwiches. Great taste, not too much choice (this is positive!) and nice service too.

Everything about Hartog is great - they have a fair selection of breads that are all tasty. They aren't as cheap as other bakeries, but the bread they make is honest and has no additives. If you're there, give their pastries a try as well - they are extremely delicious (poppy seed muffins, 'appelflap' or almond cookies - all very... More

This is a great place to grab and awesome toastie, they are fairly quick and they also sell plenty of great baked goods to take home with you or back to the office for your colleagues. It's not the cheapest place but the food is great so it's a nice place for a treat once in a while. My suggestion... More

My sister and I visited here for breakfast and it was amazing. They have a good variety of breads and treats worth checking out.

Fantastic organic bread bakery. One of the best places to visit if you want to have a simple breakfast or just want to buy some delicious bread.

Hartog's six grain bread is by far one of my favourite breads. Fresh, hearty, and for a decent price. It's always busy inside the shop, so don't go when you are in a rush... and of course, it's worth the wait!

Since the past 20-30 years or so, The Netherlands are blessed with an ever-increasing (as it looks) number of bakeries. Several of them also have informal restaurants (like "diners" in the US) where you can enjoy the local produce freshly, and have a good cup of coffee. The Hartog bakery pioneered wholemeal bread ever since it's foundation in 1896. I'm... More
