Ate here twice on a 5 day break to Amsterdam with my 14 yr old son. Concept is simple; 2 items per person ordered, eat them & order 2 more items each until full. First time we had managed 3 times, 2nd visit we ordered 4 times. Current price is €25 per person (€15/child) My son is a sushi freak... More

I ate at Umami twice. Their sushi menu is very limited- only salmon and california maki are actually worth re-ordering and recommending. I was also able to try mussles and sweet and sour shrimp. The mussles were in a really tasty sauce. I do recommend the place, especially the two maki rolls. Umami has a great atmosphere- it's dark inside... More

Having read the reviews on here we decided to give it a try. The restaurant was busy but we didn't need a reservation. It doesn't look much from the front but when you walk down to the main restaurant you get the feeling of a relaxed atmosphere and nice ambience. Being in the height of tourist season we expected it... More

You order 2 dishes pp for 4 servings(€25), and after the third serving we were so full we had to throw in the towel. Very good food.

We went there and didn't know what to expect not what the concept was really about which I can help you understand now. Basically it's all you can eat for 3 hours. Its 25 € pp and each person chooses two courses per round. You have as many rounds as youd like. We had three rounds and a dessert (not... More

This is a wonderful restaurant. I live in the area amd had walked past it a few times but finally decided to try it out last night. Wow, the interior is amazing, nothing like I expected from the outside. Food selection is great, I cant wait to go back to try more of the dishes. The service was outstanding. I'll... More

Great restaurant! looks really dirty from the outside but its fabulous once you enter. Food was lovely! menu was a bit difficult to understand; could do with being in better English. Basically is £25 per person and each person choses 2 course per sittings, every course has to be eaten before you can then order your next course. Unlimited course... More

The first thing to say is that this place looks a lot better on the inside than it does from the outside so don't let that put you off. The food itself was pretty good, although it did come to the table rather quickly after ordering which made me wonder how 'fresh' the sushi was that I ordered. That said,... More

We dined at Umami on a Saturday evening, expecting very good things based on the previous reviews. We didn't make a reservation, and initially we almost didn't go in as it looked completely empty from the street (clearly not a good sign on a Saturday during dinner hours); when we did decide to go in we stood for a few... We went there with a group of 5 people and had a wonderful dinner. The food was excellent and the location made us feel good. What I did not like is the policy of this restaurant: - some tables are only available with reservations even if they are not booked for an evening!? - you need to decide for one... More
