Good to watch the hustle go by!

Enjoyed the Boho side of Amsterdam by wondering the district, had a nice time sat watching the locals go by with a few well informed tourists. Sit under the canopy to get the view. The Turkish bread and grilled chicken was good and so was my salmon and capers on whole wheat toast.

This place is very nice for a "hungry-thirsty-break". We had really great tomato-mozarella-pesto sandwiches and natural smoothies which we enjoyed outside in the sun, on their outdoor seating. The price was fair for the quality of the food and the location. I really liked the atmosphere of the place and the vine surrounding the main entrance gave the place a... More

With all the restaurants and cafes in Amsterdam, it is difficult to choose, but this unprepossessing place had excellent food, fine service and good beer. The two lunch dishes ordered were a Tosti on turkish bread and a spinach salad with smoked salmon. The sandwich was very good; the salad was excellent and so large that it ended up being... More

Had a great lunch at Pilsvogel. We had a variety of the open face sandwiches. Everyone was quite satisfied. The service was quick and friendly.

A nice place just off a square in De Pijp with outdoor seating and a great selection of beers. The service was much better than average and their selection of snacks was more imaginative and varied than most of the brown cafes. A great little find.

Just off Albert Cuypstraat it is a great place to visit for lunch, the service is excellent and the owner is wonderfully friendly. The set lunch menu is great value with burgers and soups. The beers are great particularly the brouwerij t'ij beers.

It was good place for catching up with friends for a drink, but wasn't really impressed with the food. The bar snacks "tapas" menu was fairly limited and not somewhere I'd consider eating again. The main course burger was dry and my chicken satay was dry and chewy... So great place for a drink, staff are helpful but they really... More

Highly recommend this café. It is situated just a block from Albert Cuypmarket and was close to our apartment. In the two weeks we were in town,, we frequented this café/pub for lunch and our last beer of the evening. Enjoyed the light fixtures and wood, also sat outdoors on a great evening too.. Staff is great, will return as... More

Staying in De Pijp

Neighborhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
