Very good food

We go there for romantic dinner. Outside everything was occupied so we sit inside. We wasn't really hungry so we orders main dish only. Waiter informed us that risotto need 2o minutes, we was OK with that but it comes almost 50 min after. It was worth to wait because it was exceptionally... read more

That good we went back twice, the young waitress was very friendly she had not long moved to Amsterdam herself & made us feel extremely welcome. The food on both visits was superb you do have to wait for some dishes but they are freshly cooked & are worth the wait. The food & service was the best we had... More

It is difficult to write a poor review when the staff seemed to be doing their best and were friendly. However, I cannot think of another rating given that we waited over an hour for our food (there were only a few other tables) and the food was less than mediocre. We were not impressed at all with the quality... More

We were beat at the end of a long day and this place had a good location. Drinks were served in a timely fashion, but we waited about 45 minutes for our food and we were the only people eating at the time! The steak had a peculiar texture and taste; the squid ink rice and squid was OK but... More

Lovely tapas restaurant where your food is cooked to order. I don't mind waiting a little while to receive freshly cooked food of this quality. Friendly service and very clean restaurant. Would definitely visit again when returning to Amsterdam.

My husband and I sat outside right in front of a busy canal intersection and had our last couple of beers. Price is amazing and the service was really good. Not sure what the other reviewers meant by slow service. Maybe for food? Anyway, service was a bit "slow" everywhere we went. It's just different I Europe and you have... More

The food was nice but expensive, it was spoilt by having to wait such a long time for what was a simple meal. There was no apology or any discount for the long wait the restaurant wasn't even busy when they were cooking our main course . I would not recommend for this reason

It took over an hour to be served tapas that were just average and most certainly not worth the money OR time. The excuse they gave us was one of the chefs left and they were left with one chef. Pretty flimsy in my opinion. When the tapas arrived, the Mejillones (mussels-recommended by waitress) was DRY. The Gambas, although floating... More

Everything about this restaurant is first class: beautiful décor with wall and floor tiles from Granada; great music mix with lots of modern jazz classics; charming host and lovely waitress; delicious wine and fabulous food. To start I had the paté de ternera which was rich in flavour as all paté should be. My main course was popietas de dorada... More

Whilst the food we had was ok, it has to be said that we waited far too long for each course and the prices here are very expensive. We were the only people in the restaurant that evening and I dread to think how long we would have waited had there been any more customers. We were charged 7 euros... More

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
