I was moved to write this review having read the one posted on 13th September. We found this restaurant by accident, spotting it from the tram, and went in because it looked nice; in other words, we hadn't specifically sought it out. We were puzzled by the mixture of names (di Bruno on the window, di Salle on the menu)... More

I tend to write reviews when I've felt positively about a restaurant or hotel. It is rare that I find anywhere recommended by TA which is dire so tonight is a first. Arriving on a Friday evening on my first trip to Amsterdam, my husband booked one of TA's top rated restaurants which was restaurant di Sale. However, on arrival... More

I have been to Di Sale in July 2014, due to a very good deal found online. The three course dinner consisted of an appetizer (an amazingly good caponata), a main course (a questionable risotto alla milanese, which was okay neverhtless) and a dessert (chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream, nothing super exciting). Given that the cook is Serbian, he... More

My wife and I dropped in for an early dinner on a Saturday night. We got the only table that was not reserved, and likely were the only tourists in the restaurant that night. What a pleasant contrast to anywhere I have eaten in central Amsterdam. The food was uniformly good as was the service. My wife and I both... More

The food here is fantastic, thoroughly enjoyed my dinner. Their Piatto di Sale is very good, and I fell in love with truffles at this very restaurant. Absolutely delicate and delicious. Easily one of the best restaurants in Amsterdam.

We started with the Piatto di Mare for two comprising different seafood and fish. My wife had the duck breast and I had the pasta with lamb ragout. Both entrees were excellently prepared. The room is modern with nice sized tables. Outdoor seating is also available. Service was excellent. A definite repeat when in Amsterdam.

Rack of lamb; scallops; grilled fresh fish with pesto; homemade pasta and sausage; wonderful house wine; cauliflower soup. All top notch. You won't be disappointed. We went with kids (age 10, 12) and they did well with the pasta (and our 12 year old likes scallops). $E100 for four; well worth it. Super nice chef as well, and great wait... More

The restaurant is located a little way from the centre of town in a very attractive area (equivalent of London's Knightsbridge/Kensington?) The restaurant has modern decor, tables are smartly laid and the staff are helpful and friendly. Food quality and preparation were excellent - this is genuine Italian brought to Amsterdam. It was Saturday night and the restaurant was very... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
