Greenwoods somehow impresses the naive...it appears on the internet as one of the top breakfast restaurants in Amsterdam... Okay, that is if you do breakfast after 9.30am....and don't expect even the simplest order to arrive within 1/2 hour... Food was however well prepared with lovely fresh ingredients...but waiting until 10.15 for the order to arrive meant I was starving and... More

We decided to give Greenwoods a try for lunch as we were intrigued by the concept of an English style tearoom in Amsterdam! To be honest, it's not really a tearoom, but that makes not one jot of difference if you enjoy good food. We had to queue for a table, which was fine, but a quick aknowledgement of how... More

Following a guided tour in Amsterdam while on or way to the Rijksmuseum, we stopped in for a light drink. The four of us had various flavors of lemonade which were refreshing. We had hoped to sit outside by the canal, but all the tables were taken. Inside was just fine. It has a small homey feel and was very... More

This is a very cute little coffehouse. It is always full but ont only because it is so small. We went there twice because it was so excellent. The sandwiches are to die for especially with their homemade bread. The secon time we ordered afternoon tea and it was just fantastic. Scones were divine and the little sandwiches were delicious.... We enjoyed two brunches here - what a treat - one outside on the canal and one inside. We especially loved the portobello mushroom lunch special, eggs florentine, poached egg and ricotta and carrot cake. Great fresh juices and coffee drinks. Fast and friendly service too.

It's not just all about the breakfasts here. The cakes and scones we had were delicious too. There is a good selection tea to choose from too. The service was relaxed and we sat, took our time and were not rushed.

We visited here because it was highly recommended and were fairly disappointed. While the food was good (healthy but not the best we've had..) the service was really poor. Asking for a wedge of lemon for my avocado and waiting 10 minutes for it meant my meal was cold by the time I was happy with its flavour. Could be... More

Really lovely breakfast & staff! Cater well for veggies & fussy friends that require gluten free. Coffee really good. Nice location. Home made soda bread won round the teenagers from white bread.

The sun had come out so I decided to relax and have a glass of wine and lunch. The setting next to the canal was lovely and they have an extensive menu of fresh well prepared dishes with breakfast served all day. I had the lunch salad special which was great.
