Good Food, Slow Service, Felt like a Local

My husband and I wanted to have dinner at a place that wasn't too touristy and that seemed like a place you would go if you lived in the area. Through TA I found Moes, and it wasn't too far from our B&B. It is a cute little restaurant on a major street, but we could have easily missed it.... read more

Loved this small restaurant. Great service and food! Seems to be a place where the locals go. Specials were delicious! Will definitely visit again when in Amsterdam.

After having taken a two-week Bike & Barge tour from Bruges to Amsterdam, we had a couple of days to spend in Amsterdam. Moe's was on the list provided by our guide as a good place to have dinner. He should have put 5 stars by it! What a pleasant surprise. The place is unassuming, a little unnoticeable by virtue... More

Positives I may have said this before but this really is a great place to eat. If you are ever in Amsterdam, make sure you do your research and track this place down, you will not be disappointed. We have eaten here before and thoroughly enjoyed it and were expecting the same level of service and quality on our return.... More

My husband, daughter and I stopped in for an early dinner (she is 2 years old) on our family visit to Amsterdam. It was close to our apartment and opens early, a must when we need to get in and out with a child. The staff were super attentive to us and our daughter's needs (chalk for the table to... More

I chose this restaurant from reading the reviews on tripadvisor and I wasn't disappointed . It was very close to our hotel which was Bonus. The menu was small always a good thing but even so had plenty of choice. I went for red beet macron with goats cheese which was really unusual but worked. The veal was beautiful but... More

The place is warm and, how dutch say, gezellig. We had a very nice meal choosing the dishes of the day, suggested by the really nice waiter. They were unusual for our foreign taste, but really good and tasty. A sure bet, and a place to come back to.

We had lunch at Moes last week after visiting the exhibition at De Appel. We were surprised by the variety of lunch items available (which can be a challenge in Amsterdam sometimes). My wife ordered the risotto (excellent) and I had the soup of the day (sweet potato) and a smoked mackerel sandwich, both great as well. The staff is... More

We read about Moes on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. It is a casual eatery, reasonably priced. The food is fresh and tasty and the service excellent. It was perfect for the light dinner that we desired.

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away.
