MOES is a bar and restaurant in the basement underneath De Appel arts center. Seasonal, local products are the basis of the international menu. Once a month, the menu is completely without fish or meat. MOES makes a modest contribution to reducing the distance from farm to fork by growing it's own herbs in the garden.2012 Architects from Rotterdam designed the interior with the same philosophy: what you can get from nearby, is good. Through a 'harvest map' building materials from the environment are found and re-used.Opening hours: Tuesday - Friday 17h00-23h00, Saturday 12h00-23h00, Sunday 12h00-18h00 and Monday closed. Great beer, great food and great staff

Went for for dinner at Moes, it was just lovely. The food was great, pork cheeks are an absolute winner. The locally made ice cream is also a winner. Check this place out!

Visited this restaurant, last June. It is a quaint and cool hangout, with very good staff. Though they had limited chose of vegetarian fare, I did get tasty vegetarian food to eat. the staff is very helpful and make you feel comfortable.

2nd time here. It's worth the walk from Amsterdam CS. Locally sourced produce. Connected to the Appel Museum. Go and enjoy!

We had a fixed menu, which was extremely tasty at a very reasonable price. The service was both pleasant and timely. My only slight reservation would be that it can be quite noisy.

Had a lovely evening with partner. He had a craft beer with hint of coca to start and I had a goldfish bowl sized gin and tonic which was delicious. Both had steak with locally sourced roasted veg with tasty sauce, chunky chips with homemade creamy mayo. Service was great, right balance of friendly and leaving you be. I love... More

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
