As soon as we got into the restaurant we saw that the organisation of the waiting staff and kitchen staff was lacking a lot. And as we were waiting for a waiter to take our order, we quickly noticed that the whole restaurant was messy; cleaning cloths on the bar stools, waiters running around like headless chickens and a very... First of all I like to underline that even if I write in English I am Italian and I live in Rome so is my wife! After a long day walking through the beautiful Amsterdam we decided it was time for dinner. As Waterlooplein Square is only a few steps away from the hotel where we were staying and we... More

It's pretty hard to mess up pizza or pasta, right? Wrong! Just go to San Goivanni! The menu states all pasta dishes are available as Spaghetti, Macaroni or Tagliatelle. So I ordered a Macaroni dish and was surprised to be brought a penne dish instead. I mean, how can an Italian chef be confused about the difference between Penne and... More

We went to eat lunch here and ordered off the menu. We ordered one pizza for three people for 9.50€ and one water for 2€ and two colas for 2 € each as the only option on the menu. The total should have been 15.50€. When the ticket came, it totaled 21.50€. Or 6€ more than stated on the menu.... More

We had pizza, lasagna and spaghetti, and we enjoyed to food very much. Staff could have been more welcoming, but we were served well.

I looked for a nice clean place with good food and found San Giovanni after a visit to the Portuguese Synagogue. The owner and the staff are very pleasant and the food is good. You can sit inside and outside. I had pasta and enjoyed it a lot.

A good choice near the Stopera to get a cheap meal but at a decent quality. It's somewhat of a local pizza place but don't expect some scenic views or great decor inside. Some 15 minutes walk to the old city center.

Went here for our first meal in Amsterdam after a long day travelling and were pleased with our choice. We chose it because of its close proximity to our hotel and because the food is pretty standard so you can't go wrong. We ended up ordering the same meal and it was really very tasty, and for the area the... More

What a disappointment, I had been looking forward to an italian pasta meal, what I got was pasta in tomato soup and find the meat if you can, it was fortunate that they give you a spoon as well as a fork as I would never have got the liquid down, just awful but my wife and friends had steaks...
