Description: The taste and quality of traditional cuisine with an innovative twist, you can taste its maximum respect for nature. This philosophy is underscored by the use of fair trade products and ingredients from Italy and Netherlands. For a perfect combination with the regional dishes there are, on the wine card, many available by the glass, small scale and artisan producers from Italy. For these reasons we choose to collaborate with the projects “The Alliance between Cooks and Slow Food Presidia”. Presidia are projects of Slow Food that safeguard small-scale quality productions that use traditional methods.

Around the corner from our AirBnB we found Al Bacaro. 1st night was slow and we had the full attention of Eliano (waiter and co-owner), met his lovely wife and sweet son. Eliano guided our selections and all were excellent: antipasti, pasta, beef, wine, desert. Second night, the place was packed and we sat by the kitchen and could watch... More

On a wet evening, we stumbled into al Bacaro and were welcomed by a quirky waiter who I think has to be the owner too. We followed his recommendations and were treated to possibly the best pasta I have ever had. Not cheap, and he'll try to up sell you all the time, but worth the expense and a little... More

I'm usually not happy of going to Italians restaurants when abroad (and now that I live in Amsterdam it's everyday...) but some friends took me to this small one and I'm really happy of having eaten there: great food, good wine, nice people... it worth all!

Nice place! Friendly service. Small card, but you can ask something, and they try to prepare it for you!

Like many others, we came across this restaurant by chance and received warm welcome by the waiter (maybe owner). The dishes were fresh and flavoursome. The presentation was lacking but the food tasted very good. Reasonable prices for the quality of food.

Hi, after walking for miles seeing the sites of Amsterdam we were hungry and tired. We found this wonderful restaurant. The food was spectacular, service great and they chef came out and explained to me (in Italian, which the waiter patiently translated back and forth) how to make a very tasty fennel dish. I'm not a fan of fennel and... More

I came here with a friend who highly recommended it and I was really happy with the atmosphere and the food. Nice and tasty. The only disappointment is the price, a bit too overpriced especially for a place that is meant to be an "osteria"!

I discovered this place in Social Deals Amsterdam, and I am extremely happy with the place. The food was excellent, everything homemade and with good quality products (good olive oil, fresh fish, etc). We had a 4 dishes menu, which it was too much food, but since everything was super delicious, we manage to eat it all. Not only the... More

Al Bacaro is located 3 minutes from the apartment that we rented in the Ceaser canal (Keizersgracht). It is a lovely authentic Italian small restaurant that we had a very good dinner in. My wife and I shared a great antipasti plates that included cold cuts, crudo fish and amazing cheeses. Both of us took main courses from the daily... More
