Jams and Scones, oh my!

I make it my business to try a scone just about everywhere I go- is there a review site for just scones? At any rate, don't miss the scone of the day here (the entire breakfast scene is pretty amazing as well). It happened to be pistachio and orange upon my visit. A little buttery nugget sent from... read more

Yummmm!! I will post my photo of the chicken and salad sandwich with avocado. My mouth is watering just thinking about it it was fresh, crunchy salad, lovely chewy white bread...as far as sandwiches go a 10/10. Had a soup, spinach and celeriac (we believe it was written in Dutch and although we asked it really did test the waitresses... More

The restaurant is quite small and it's quiet hard to find s free spot. We just had a yoghurt smoothie and some sandwiches both delicious and nice presented! The prices are really fair!

Our concierge recommended this bakery/bistro for breakfast and it was fabulous! The fresh baked breads were offered in a basket accompanied by sliced ham and cheese as one option we enjoyed. My husband had the quiche Lorraine and it was incredibly savory, with a perfectly flaky crust. Jars of fresh jam are on all of the tables, and included strawberry,... More

We came here after reading others reviews and I'm really glad we did! Not the cheapest place to eat, and not the quickest either (they were busy however), but worth the wait and the cost. I had a 'Dutch Breakfast' - lots of different bread types with some truly AMAZING jams. I wanted to take them home! The lemon one... More

We had a fantastic breakfast on a chilly, rainy morning. We waited only 10 minutes for a table (and the sweet servers were apologetic about the wait). I had a quiche that was just perfect as well as a very nice cappuccino. My boyfriend had the granola bits and a freshly squeezed orange juice. The bright decor was welcome on... More

A brilliant cafe on Warmoesstraat, about in the middle. It is absolutely huge inside over two floors and it is an excellent place for coffee and cakes. The service was excellent and I would highly recommend the French Chocolate Cake. Mmmmmmm

We're locals, have been coming to this bakkerswinkel for years (even in the old temporary location on the Zeedijk). I have never done the high tea, but love the scones, salads and breakfast deals. Yes, it can be busy. Sometimes you have to wait for 10/15 minutes. Friendly staff and owner, and a nice place for kids as well. You... More
