Great tasting Thai food!!!!

This restaurant is located just at the backside of the red light district. We visited because one of our friends suggested this place. We had ordered Tom Yam Kai, which is a chicken soup with mushrooms, for the Starters- Giaw Tod, which are parcels of minced chicken and prawns and for the main... read more

Came here on a recommendation....well worth it. In the Chinatown area of Amsterdam there are a number of good looking restaurants - and then there are little places like this. It is nothing to look at from the outside, small, slightly shabby it is an unpolished diamond of a restaurant. The sort of place the Thai go to eat, there... More

We arrived late into Amsterdam so we didn't get down to Red Light District until nearly 11PM. Most restaurants had already stopped serving and we were beginning to think we'd have to settle for some mediocre fast food. Then, we saw this place full of people (always a good sign) and when we asked if they were still serving were... More

Stopped in because we wanted a bite to eat very quickly before we kept moving and this hit all the requirements. We were served fast, the food tasted really nice, and for downtown Amsterdam, I thought it was reasonably priced. One note is that I ordered one of their "spiciest" dishes and it wasn't very spicy at all. There is... More

Until a couple of weeks back, we usually went to the busier Bird Thai. We tried Jasmine Thai as it was open earlier. It was a relaxed and very nice vibe. Food was surprisingly good! We have now been back twice and can definitely recommend both the red and green curries. Service was also extremely friendly, also great value for... More

Good Thai food! Appeared clean, popularly busy efficient friendly service, dishes were not 100% traditional but this is to be expected in a European country and staff were more than happy to accommodate by bringing the extras such has chili and lime/lemon juice to add

Excellent food - all the classic dishes as expected and welk prepared. Fast service an reasonably priced for this tourist center. Just great compared to all the "snacks" crap served elsewhere :-)

I had a great dinner with my wife last week. All dishes we had were so deliciuos and authentic. Definetly the best Thai food we have ever had in Amsterdam. Everything was super fresh and tasty. The staff is very friendly and the dining atmosphere is very cosy. We'll come back for sure. Thank you!

Restaurant is in a great location of Amsterdam. The pricing is great. The food was very good. We had to wait about ten minutes for a table and they were very nice about letting us know how long and getting us drinks while we were waiting. Definitely would recommend them.

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
